Olhynka Raion ( uk, Ольгинський район) was a raion (district) of Donetsk Oblast in the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic from 1935 until 1959. Its administrative center was Olhynka. History It was formed on 13 February 1935 as Anadol Raion ( uk, Анадольський район). On 31 August the same year, it was renamed to ''Olhynka Raion''. On 10 September 1959, Olhynka Raion was abolished. Marinka Raion ( uk, Мар'їнський район; russian: Марьинский район) was a raion (district) of Donetsk Oblast (province) located in eastern Ukraine. Its administrative center was the city of Marinka. The raion was abolished on 18 July 2020 as part of the administrative reform of Ukraine, which reduced the number of raions of Donetsk Oblast to eight, of which only five were controlled by the government. A raion (also spelt rayon) is a type of administrative unit of several post-Soviet states. The term is used for both a type of subnational entity and a division of a city. The word is from the French (meaning 'honeycomb, department'), and is commonly translated as "district" in English. A raion is a standardized administrative entity across most of the former Soviet Union and is usually a subdivision two steps below the national level, such as a subdivision of an oblast.
