Old GreekTown (UTA Station)
Old GreekTown station is light rail station in Downtown Salt Lake City, Utah, United States serviced by the Blue Line of the Utah Transit Authority's (UTA) TRAX system. The Blue Line has service from the Salt Lake Intermodal Hub in Downtown Salt Lake City to Draper. For several years prior the opening of the Airport Extension, it was also on the route of the Green Line. Description The station is located at 550 West 200 South with the island platform in the median of the street. The buildings facing onto this segment of 200 South are mostly old buildings now occupied by retail businesses, though many of them, such as the historic Central Warehouse, were built in a time when the area was nearly surrounded by rail yards and freight spurs. There is also newly built transit-oriented development on the street. The historic Rio Grande Station (now housing a museum) is a half-block south. Arena station is a light rail station in Downtown Salt Lake City, Utah, in the United States, served by the Blue Line and Green Line of the Utah Transit Authority's (UTA) TRAX system. The Denver and Rio Grande Western Depot, commonly referred to as the Rio Grande Depot, is a former train station on the western edge of Downtown Salt Lake City. History The depot was constructed by the Denver and Rio Grande Western Railroad in 1910 at a cost of US$750,000. The depot was the main jewel of the Denver and Rio Grande Western Railroad, and was designed by Chicago architect Henry Schlacks, who was best known in Chicago for his design of churches, but had also designed the Denver and Rio Grande Depot in Grand Junction, Colorado, for the railroad. It was specifically intended to surpass the nearby Salt Lake City Union Pacific Depot, which had been built the previous year for US$300,000. Draper, Utah
Draper is a city in Salt Lake and Utah counties in the U.S. state of Utah, about south of Salt Lake City along the Wasatch Front. As of the 2020 census, the population is 51,017, up from 7,143 in 1990. Draper is part of two metropolitan areas; the Salt Lake County portion is in the Salt Lake City metropolitan area, while the Utah County portion is in the Provo-Orem metropolitan area.
