Okky Asokawati
Okky Asokawati is an Indonesian former model and politician. Early life Asokawati was born on 6 March 1961. She was one of the six children of adjunct police commissioner Anwas Tanuamijaya who was sentenced for life imprisonment for his alleged complicity in the 30 September Movement. Her mother worked as an English teacher to support the family. Tanuamijaya was released in 1985. She holds a Master of Science in Psychology degree from the University of Indonesia. Career When Asokawati was 17, she competed in a beauty contest organised by a magazine. Winning it led to her being signed as a photo-model. Soon, she established a name for herself and posed for Ungaro and Claude Montana's fashion houses. She started OQ Modeling school in 1988 and Persona finishing academy in 1990. ''The Jakarta Post'' is a daily English-language newspaper in Indonesia. The paper is owned by PT Niskala Media Tenggara and based in the nation's capital, Jakarta. The ''Jakarta Globe'' is a daily online English-language newspaper in Indonesia, launched in November 2008. The paper initially came out as a print newspaper with an average of 48 pages a day, and published Monday to Saturday. It had three sections, and contained (in section A) a range of general news, including metropolitan and national news coverage as well as international news, plus comment, (in section B) Indonesian and world business and sport plus a classified advertising section, and (in section C) an extensive features and lifestyle coverage as well as entertainment, listings and reader service and puzzle/cartoon pages. The newspaper later added a Sunday Jakarta Globe edition. The newspaper converted from broadsheet to tabloid format in May 2012, and then was published online only from 15 December 2015. Legislative elections were held in Indonesia on 9 April 2009 for 132 seats of the Regional Representative Council (DPD) and 560 seats of the People's Representative Council (DPR).
