Kenji Ogiwara
(born 20 December 1969) is a Japanese politician and former Nordic combined skier who won several medals at the Winter Olympics, the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships, and the Holmenkollen ski festival. He won gold medals in the Nordic combined team events at the 1992 and 1994 Winter Olympics. Ogiwara won two gold medals each in the 15 km individual (1993, 1997) and the team (3 x 10 km: 1993, 4 x 5 km: 1995) events and one bronze in the 7.5 km sprint (1999) at the Nordic skiing world championships. In 1995, Ogiwara won the Nordic combined event at the Holmenkollen ski festival. Ogiwara received the Holmenkollen medal in 1995, becoming the first non-European and first Asian to ever receive the honor. At the 1998 Winter Olympics, he took the Athlete's Oath. (born 1959) is a Japanese fantasy writer. Biography Noriko Ogiwara was born in 1959. Having read C. S. Lewis' ''The Chronicles of Narnia, Chronicles of Narnia'' at a very early age, she decided to become a fantasy writer. Her first book, won her several awards for children's literature and was translated into English by Cathy Hirano as ''Dragon Sword and Wind Child''; the English version was out-of-print until it was re-released by Viz Media in October 2007. The two sequels, and , have only been published in Japanese language, Japanese. The re-issuing of ''Dragon Sword and Wind Child'' encouraged Viz to publish the next novel in the sequence, ''Hakuchou Iden'', as ''Mirror Sword and Shadow Prince'' in May 2011, also translated by Cathy Hirano. Rokuzan Ogiwara
was a sculptor active in Meiji period Japan. His real name was . He is regarded as one of the pioneers of modern western-style bronze sculpture in Japan. Early life Ogiwara was born in Azumino in Nagano Prefecture in the mountains of central Japan, as the fifth son of a local farmer. He was forced to drop out of school at an early age due to a heart condition. In 1894, he met Aizō Sōma and his wife Kokkō Sōma, the wealthy proprietors of the Nakamura-ya bakery in Tokyo and noted art patrons, and partly due to their influence, he became an active member of the temperance movement, temperance movement and a convert to Christianity. Ogiwara Seisensui
was the pen-name of , a Japanese haiku poet active during the Taishō and Shōwa periods of Japan. Early life Ogiwara Tōkichi was born in Shinmei, Shiba, Tokyo City (present-day Hamamatsu, Minato, Tokyo), the second son of a merchant who owned a general goods store called Nitta-ya. The Ogiwara family was originally from Takada, Echigo Province (present-day Jōetsu, Niigata), and his grandfather Tōkichi had moved to Edo as a young man. Both of his siblings died in infancy. Although he attended Seisoku Junior High School, Ogiwara was expelled after publishing a student newspaper criticizing the school's educational methods and administration. After entering Azabu Junior High School, he quit drinking and smoking, seriously engaged in studying, and gained admission to Tokyo Imperial University.
