Offenbach-Bieber–Dietzenbach Railway
The Offenbach-Bieber–Dietzenbach railway branches in Offenbach-Bieber station from the Rodgau Railway (german: Rodgaubahn) and runs via Heusenstamm to Dietzenbach in the German state of Hesse. The line is integrated into the Frankfurt S-Bahn network. It is served by line S 2. History The Offenbach-Bieber–Dietzenbach line was opened on 1 December 1898, following the opening of the Rodgau Railway in 1896. It was the result of continuing efforts at the local level since about 1870 to open up the area south of Offenbach am Main with a railway, but which was only adopted by the Grand Duchy of Hesse very slowly. So it took until 1888 for the government to finally give its approval and it took another ten years until the first train ran. Niedernhausen Station
Niedernhausen station serves the municipality of Niedernhausen in the German state of Hesse. It is the most important station on the Main-Lahn Railway between the stations of Frankfurt-Höchst and Eschhofen in Limburg an der Lahn. It is the terminus of the Ländches Railway running from Niedernhausen to Wiesbaden Hauptbahnhof and of line S2 of the Rhine-Main S-Bahn from Frankfurt. Rödermark is a town in the Offenbach (district), Offenbach district in the ''Regierungsbezirk'' of Darmstadt (region), Darmstadt in Hesse, Germany, southeast of Frankfurt, Frankfurt am Main and northeast of Darmstadt. Offenbach (district)
Offenbach is a Kreis (district) in the south of Hesse, Germany and is part of the Frankfurt/Rhine-Main Metropolitan Region. Neighbouring districts are Main-Kinzig, Aschaffenburg, Darmstadt-Dieburg, Groß-Gerau and the cities of Darmstadt, Frankfurt and Offenbach. Grand Duchy Of Hesse
The Grand Duchy of Hesse and by Rhine (german: link=no, Großherzogtum Hessen und bei Rhein) was a grand duchy in western Germany that existed from 1806 to 1918. S2 (Rhine-Main S-Bahn)
The S2 service of the S-Bahn Rhein-Main system bearing the KBS (German scheduled railway route) number 645.2 is a railway connection between the small Taunus town Niedernhausen and Dietzenbach. Usually DBAG Class 423 railcars are used on this service. Its predecessor class 420 is only used for shortened shuttle services.
