''Of Beauty and Rage'' is the fifth studio album by American Christian rock band Red (band), Red. It was released on February 24, 2015 through Essential Records (Christian), Essential Records. It was produced by Rob Graves. The album was included through a PledgeMusic campaign. "Darkest Part" and "Yours Again" were available pre-release to backers. The album's first single "Darkest Part" was released on December 8, 2014. The album's second single, "Yours Again", was released on March 19, 2015. Background According to one of the twins, Anthony Armstrong, Red's guitarist, the song, "Darkest Part", is "simply about being vulnerable. When you trust someone and show the demons you have hidden away in your life, there is a fear and likelihood of scaring someone away." Red (band)
Red (stylized as R3D or RED) is an American Christian rock band from Nashville, Tennessee, formed in 2002 by brothers guitarist Anthony Armstrong and bassist Randy Armstrong, with lead vocalist Michael Barnes. The band's first lineup also consisted of drummer Andrew Hendrix and guitarist Jasen Rauch. Currently, the line-up has consisted of the core trio of the Armstrong brothers and Barnes, along with touring drummer Brian Medeiros. ''CCM Magazine'' is a twice-monthly online magazine focusing on contemporary Christian music, published by Salem Publishing, a division of Salem Communications. History ''CCM'' was first published in July 1978, as a printed magazine. It has been owned by Salem since 1999. On January 16, 2008, Salem announced that the April 2008 issue would be the final printed issue of the magazine, which would continue in an online-only format. Blue Stahli is an American electronic rock project by Bret Autrey. Blue Stahli has appeared in a number of movie trailers, shows and games. History Musical beginnings and VOXiS (1997–2006) Autrey started music at a young age, learning through the use of an old beat up piano he had rescued from a dump. He worked through 3 years of piano lessons, by mimicking his neighbor and playing the melodies by ear. During this same time, he had become interested in sampling and programming music using DOS's Impulse Tracker. Later he received lessons from a friend for guitar, and would play along to music such as Queen's soundtrack to ''Flash Gordon''. He has played in a band as the guitarist, fronted by drag queens; as well as joining a burlesque troupe as a DJ to their shows. Ben Grosse is an American record producer and mixer, known for his signature sound involving metal and hard rock music. Dan Johnson is an American drummer currently with American rock band Soundmankillz and formerly with the Christian rock band Red, Christian metal band Love and Death, rock metal band Back from Ashes, and hard rock band The Sammus Theory. History Having grown up in Pennsylvania, Johnson played drums in the band UO4 throughout his high school career. After starting his adulthood in Phoenix, his drumming career in Arizona began with local band Mo Nasty, after which time he moved on to The Sammus Theory. In 2009, Brian "Head" Welch, the guitarist for Korn asked Johnson along with Michael Valentine (bass), Scott Von Heldt (guitar), Ralph Patlan (guitar), and Brian Ruedy (keyboards, programming) to join his up-and-coming musical ensemble. "Feed the Machine" is the second single by the American Christian rock band Red on their third full-length studio album ''Until We Have Faces''. The song was written by Anthony Armstrong, Joe Rickard, Rob Graves, Jasen Rauch and Mark Holman. The song was released on February 16, 2011, although it was sent to all the fans who submitted their faces as part of the hype for the new album on December 9, 2010. ''Gone'' is the sixth studio album by American Christian rock band Red. It was released on October 27, 2017 through Essential Records. It was produced by Rob Graves. A 17-track digital deluxe edition is also available. Recording In a March 2017 interview, guitarist Anthony Armstrong revealed the band, bassist and twin brother Randy Armstrong and singer Michael Barnes, were in the early stages of recording their sixth studio album. The sessions took place in the northeast US state of Maine, which is where their longtime producer Rob Graves lives and where their previous release, ''Of Beauty and Rage'' (2015), was also recorded.
