Odd Blomdal
Odd Emil Blomdal (30 January 1927 – 27 September 2015) was a Norwegian judge and civil servant. He took the cand.jur. degree in 1952, and later took a military education as well as further education in political science and public law. He was a lecturer at the Norwegian Military Academy from 1966 to 1978, presiding judge in the Hålogaland Court of Appeal from 1978 to 1980 and Judge Advocate General for the Norwegian Armed Forces from 1980 to 1988. From 1988 he was a presiding judge in the Eidsivating Court of Appeal. He was then Norway's Governor of Svalbard between 1991 and 1995. From 1996 to his retirement he was employed as extraordinary presiding judge in the Borgarting Court of Appeal. Oslo ( , , or ; sma, Oslove) is the capital and most populous city of Norway. It constitutes both a county and a municipality. The municipality of Oslo had a population of in 2022, while the city's greater urban area had a population of in 2019, and the metropolitan area had an estimated population of in 2021. During the Viking Age the area was part of Viken. Oslo was founded as a city at the end of the Viking Age in 1040 under the name Ánslo, and established as a ''kaupstad'' or trading place in 1048 by Harald Hardrada. Ann-Kristin Olsen
Ann-Kristin Olsen (born 29 March 1945) is a Norwegian jurist and civil servant. Known as the first female chief of police in Norway, and the first female Governor of Svalbard. She served as County Governor of Vest-Agder from 1998 until her retirement in 2015. Early life She was born in Stockholm shortly before the end of World War II; her mother chose to give birth here due to the wartime German occupation of Norway. The family soon moved to Kristiansand, and Olsen grew up there. After finishing her secondary education at Kristiansand Cathedral School in 1965, she enrolled in law studies, graduating with the Cand.jur. degree in 1972. In her young days, she reportedly attended the first International Women's Day parade in Oslo. Career She worked as a deputy judge in Indre Follo District Court from 1975 to 1976, and after switching to the local police force, she became the first female police inspector in the district. Leif Eldring
Leif Thomas Eldring (18 April 1933 – 25 August 1994) was a Norwegian judge and civil servant. He was born in Vardø. He competed his education in law in 1963, having worked part-time in Postverket. He was Norway's Governor of Svalbard from 1974 to 1977 and 1985 to 1991. Between the two spells he had been appointed as deputy under-secretary of state in the Norwegian Ministry of Justice and the Police. Except for his second spell in Svalbard, he was the permanent under-secretary of state in the Ministry of Justice from 1979 to 1993. The Borgarting Court of Appeal ( no, Borgarting lagmannsrett) is one of six intermediate courts of appeal in the Kingdom of Norway. The Court is located in the city of Oslo. The court has jurisdiction over the counties of Oslo and western Viken. These areas constitute the Borgarting judicial district ( no, Borgarting lagdømme).
