O'Toole Park
O'Toole Park ( ga, Páirc Uí Thuathail), also known as Lorcan O'Toole Park ( ga, Páirc Lorcáin Uí Thuathail), is a Gaelic games venue in Crumlin, Dublin. The ground was opened in 1957 by then Minister for Defence Kevin Boland. It is named after Lorcan O'Toole, who was secretary of the Dublin County Board from 1915 to 1940. Owned by Dublin GAA, it is used for games during the Dublin Senior Football and Dublin Senior Hurling Championships. It also hosts Dublin Intermediate and Junior county finals. Crumlin () is a Southside suburb of Dublin, Ireland. Formerly a rural area, it became heavily built up from the early 20th century onwards. Kevin Boland (15 October 1917 – 23 September 2001) was an Irish Fianna Fáil politician who served as Leader of Aontacht Éireann from 1971 to 1976, Minister for Social Welfare from 1961 to 1966 and 1969 to 1970, Minister for Local Government from 1966 to 1970 and Minister for Defence from 1957 to 1961. The Dublin Senior Hurling Championship ( ga, Craobh Sinsear Iomána Átha Cliath) is an annual hurling competition organised by the Dublin County Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association ( GAA) since 1887 for the top hurling clubs in County Dublin, Ireland. Sixteen clubs compete. Initially the teams are divided into four groups of four with the group matches being played from April to May with a break to accommodate the All-Ireland Championship and resume during August or September.
