O'Farrell Community School
The O'Farrell Charter Schools is a network of college-preparatory charter schools in the Skyline-Encanto area in San Diego, Southern California. Often defined as schools within a school, O'Farrell operates under and charters an elementary (K-5), middle (6-8), high (9-12) and online (6-12) school. The school opened its doors in the San Diego Unified School District in 1959 with its name chosen in 1957 as Mabel E. O'Farrell Junior High. It was voted to become a charter school in 1994. President Bill Clinton made a visit to San Diego in 1995 to sign the "Goals 2000" education bill and to visit O'Farrell because it was a charter. It was also mentioned in Hillary Clinton's book It Takes a Village. Falcon
Falcons () are birds of prey in the genus ''Falco'', which includes about 40 species. Shirley Horton
Shirley Grasser Horton (July 17, 1952) is a Japanese–American politician who served as the 37th mayor of Chula Vista, California, and in the California State Assembly as a member of the Republican Party. Horton was born in Japan and educated in California at Bonita Vista High School and San Diego State University. In the 1980s she served as the president of the South San Diego Bay Cities Board of Realtors before becoming active in local politics in Chula Vista when she was appointed to the city's planning commission. In 1991, she was selected to fill Tim Nader's seat and was later elected mayor in 1994. "Angel Baby" was a 1960 single by Rosie and the Originals. The group recorded the song independently on a Multitrack recording, two-track machine, located in a facility in the small farming community of San Marcos, California. At the time, lead singer Rosie Hamlin was only 15 years old. She had written the lyrics for "Angel Baby" as a poem for "[her] very first boyfriend" when she was a 14-year-old student at Mission Bay High School in San Diego, California. Initially unable to find a label willing to distribute the song because of its unpolished sound, the group convinced a San Diego department store to pipe their master recording, master through the listening booths in the record department.
