Nestor Vasilievich Kukolnik (russian: Не́стор Васи́льевич Ку́кольник) (1809–1868) was a Russian playwright and prose writer of Carpatho-Rusyn origin. Immensely popular during the early part of his career, his works were subsequently dismissed as sententious and sentimental. Today, he is best remembered for having contributed to the libretto of the first Russian opera, '' A Life for the Tsar'' by Mikhail Glinka. Glinka also set many of his lyrics to music. Nestor is a fictional character in ''The Adventures of Tintin'', the comics series by Belgian cartoonist Hergé. He is the long-suffering butler of Marlinspike Hall. Nestor is the epitome of a butler (or, in French, ''majordome'') of French society. Louis-Victor-Nestor Roqueplan lso sometimes spelled Rocoplan(16 September 1805 – 24 April 1870) was a French writer, journalist, and theatre director. Early life and career Nestor Roqueplan was born near Montréal, Aude, and was the younger brother of the Romantic painter Camille Roqueplan. He first studied in Marseille, where he completed his secondary education in law, but moved to Paris in 1825, where he was able to publish several literary essays, and joined ''Le Figaro'' in 1827, becoming its editor-in-chief with Victor Bohain, who had purchased the paper that year for 30,000 francs. Roqueplan was considered a dandy, and witty and caustic as a writer. He was an amateur magician, and in about 1830 invented the silk braid trim on trouser seams, which became highly fashionable. Néstor Rego Candamil (born 2 April 1962) is a Galician teacher, politician and a member of the Congress of Deputies of Spain. He is leader of the Galician People's Union. Early life Rego was born on 2 April 1962 in O Vicedo, Galicia. He grew up in A Mariña where he was acquainted with other young Galician nationalists including Hernán Naval. He was educated in Viveiro where he joined the Galician Revolutionary Students (ERGA) in 1977. He was one of the founders of the Galician Youth Union (UMG), the youth wing of the Galician People's Union (UPG). Rego has a degree in geography and history from the University of Santiago de Compostela. Whilst at university he helped found the Comités Abertos de Faculdade, a student organization. Néstor Fabián Pitana (; born 17 June 1975) is an Argentine former football referee and former actor who refereed at the 2014 FIFA World Cup, 2015 Copa América and 2018 FIFA World Cup.
