Charles-Nérée Beauchemin (February 20, 1850 – June 29, 1931) was a French Canadian regionalist poet and physician from Yamachiche, near Trois-Rivières, Quebec. He was part of Quebec's ''Le Terroir'' ("The Soil") school of poetry. Beauchemin published two volumes of his poetry: ''Les Floraisons Matutinales'' (''The Morning Blossoming'') in 1897 and ''Patrie intime: Harmonies'' (''Intimate Homeland: Harmonies'') in 1928. His poetry celebrates life in his small rural community with themes of Catholic ritual, the cycles of nature, and love of family and home. Nérée Le Noblet Duplessis (5 March 1855 – 23 June 1926) was a politician in the province of Quebec, Canada. He served as Mayor of Trois-Rivières and as Member of the Legislative Assembly. He was the father of Premier Maurice Duplessis. Early life Duplessis was born in 1855 in Yamachiche, Mauricie, Canada East, the son of Marie-Louise (Lefebvre-Descôteaux) and Joseph Le Noblet Duplessis. He was an attorney. Provincial politics In 1886, Duplessis, who was a Conservative, became the Member of the Legislative Assembly for the district of Saint-Maurice. He was succeeding law practice partner François-Sévère Lesieur Desaulniers, who was moving to federal politics. Despite a landslide victory of Honoré Mercier's Parti National in 1890, he and his Conservative colleagues from the Mauricie area were re-elected. Nérée Tétreau (April 12, 1842 – January 25, 1911) was a Canadian notary, land owner, and political figure in Quebec. He represented Ottawa electoral district in the Legislative Assembly of Quebec from 1892 to 1897 as a Conservative. Early life and education Tétreau was born in Saint-Damase, Canada East, the son of Antoine Tétreau and Adélaïde Ayet, dit Malo. He was educated at the Séminaire de Saint-Hyacinthe and the Séminaire de Sainte-Marie-de-Monnoir. Career Tétreau qualified to practise as a notary in 1866 and set up practice in Hull, Quebec. Tétreau was secretary-treasurer for the Hull school board from 1866 to 1868 and for the town of Hull from 1870 to 1875. Pierre-Nérée Dorion (October 16, 1816 – 1874) was a land surveyor and political figure in Quebec, Canada. He represented Drummond—Arthabaska in the House of Commons of Canada from 1872 to 1874 as a Liberal Party of Canada, Liberal member. He was born in Sainte-Anne-de-la-Pérade, Quebec, Sainte-Anne-de-la-Pérade, Lower Canada, the son of Pierre-Antoine Dorion and Genevieve Bureau, and educated at the Séminaire de Nicolet.
