Nyvky (Kyiv Metro)
Nyvky ( uk, Нивки, ) is a station on Kyiv Metro's Sviatoshynsko-Brovarska Line. The station was opened on 5 November 1971, and is named after Kyiv's Nyvky neighbourhood. It was designed by Boris Pryimak, I.L. Maslenkov, V.C. Bohdanovskyi, and T.A. Tselikovska. The station is shallow underground, along with the Beresteiska (Kyiv Metro), Beresteiska and the Sviatoshyn (Kyiv Metro), Sviatoshyn stations, which are the first stations of the Kyiv Metro system that are not lain deep underground. The station consists of a central hall with rows of circular columns near the platforms. The columns are covered with glazed blue-coloured tiles. On the tiled walls along the tracks is a strip of plant motifs. The entrance to the station is located on the corner of the Peremohy Prospekt (''Victory Avenue'') and the Scherbakova Street. Shevchenkivskyi District, Kyiv
The Shevchenkivskyi District (, uk, Шевченківський район, lit=Shevchenkivskyi district, translit=Shevchenkivsʹkyi raion) is an urban district of the city of Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine. It was originally established on 4 April 1937, although in 2001 its area was increased following an annexation of the former Radianskyi and StaroKyivskyi districts. The district is historically significant, as it was here on the Old Kyiv mount where the apostle Saint Andrew erected the cross, also the famous Golden Gate of Kyiv, the main entrance to the medieval city of Kyiv is located in the district, as are the three major churches of the city: Saint Sophia, Saint Michael and Saint Andrew. Kyiv Metro
The Kyiv Metro ( uk, Ки́ївський метрополіте́н, Kyivskyi metropoliten, ) is a rapid transit system in Kyiv that is owned by the Kyiv City Council and operated by the city-owned company Kyivsky Metropoliten''.'' It was initially opened on November 6th, 1960, as a single line with five stations. It was the first rapid transit system in Ukraine and the third in the Soviet Union, after the Moscow and St. Petersburg metros. Today, the system consists of three lines and 52 stations, located throughout Kyiv's ten raion (districts), and operates of routes, with used for revenue service and for non-revenue service. Nyvky
Nyvky () is a neighbourhood in Kyiv, Ukraine. It belongs to Shevchenkivskyi District of Kyiv. It is surrounded by Svyatoshyn (Sviatoshynskyi District) to the west, Shuliavka to the south-east, Vidradnyi (Solomianskyi District) to the south, Syrets to the east, Vynohradar, and Berkivtsi. The name of neighborhood ''Nyvky'' has nothing to do with the river Nyvka which flows in other parts of Kyiv. The Nyvky neighborhood is located to the east from Svyatoshyn, at the same time Nyvka River flows to the west from Svyatoshyn along Borshchahivka settlements chain. The name of the neighborhood has derived rather from a grainfield that was located along the Brest-Litovsky highway (today prospekt Peremohy). In 1850s here was located a khutir Fuzykivka that was established by Fuzyk family from village of Bilychi (today a neighborhood of Kyiv). Beresteiska (Kyiv Metro)
Beresteiska ( uk, Берестейська, ) is a station on Kyiv Metro's Sviatoshynsko-Brovarska Line. The station was opened in 1971 as part of the second stage of the Sviatoshynsky radius. The station is located under the junction between the Prospect Beresteiskyi and the Mykoly Vasylenka/Dehtiarivska streets, and having only one vestibule which is interlinked with subways allowing access to both sides of the intersection. The station, along with its two other neighbours on the same stage, was the first in Kyiv to be a shallow level design built by a cut and cover method, and the first to show the common pillar-trispan design.
