Nyah Football Club
The Nyah Football Club was a country Australian rules football team from the small Victoria (Australia), Victorian town of Nyah. The team competed in a number of leagues before staying in the Mid-Murray Football League from 1932 onwards. In 1978, the Nyah Football Club merged with the Nyah West Football Club to form the Nyah-Nyah West United Football Club. History The Nyah Football Club first joined a local league with other teams from Lalbert, Victoria, Lalbert, Lake Boga, Victoria, Lake Boga, and Swan Hill in 1899. Known then as the 'Bohemians', they competed against the other teams in both home and away matches. In 1901 Nyah played in a league consisting of Lake Boga, Goschen, Victoria, Goschen, Swan Hill and themselves, coming last with a total of one win of nine matches for the season. The Tyntynder Football Netball Club, nicknamed the ''Bulldogs'', is an Australian rules football and netball club based in the Central Murray Football League. They won three premierships in a row from 1997–99, and also won the 2006 and 2007 Night Series (pre-season). From 2004-06 the Under 15's won 3 premierships in a row. In 2002 and 2004 the Under 11's side won premierships. The under 11's side came third in 2005 and 2006 while the Under 13's were runner-up in 2005 and won the premiership in 2006. Nyah West
Nyah West is a town in Victoria (Australia) near the Murray River, the border with New South Wales. It is near the Murray Valley Highway (Nyah West is on the railway line, Nyah is on the highway), north-west of Melbourne and north-west of Swan Hill. The town was established when the railway line was extended from Swan Hill to Piangil in 1915 passing some distance to the west of the established township of Nyah. A full Post Office opened here on 1 December 1917. Nyah West Magistrates' Court was formally closed on 1 September 1982, having used a local hall rather than its own courthouse and not having sat for many years. At the , Nyah West had a population of 552. It is the business and commercial centre of a prosperous irrigation district which produces wine and dried fruit, as well as vegetables and wool.
