Nutfield Railway Station
Nutfield railway station is on the Redhill to Tonbridge Line and serves Nutfield, Surrey, England. It is about a mile south of Nutfield itself, located in South Nutfield, a settlement which did not exist before the coming of the railway. It is measured from via . Since 2008 the station, and all trains serving it, have been operated by Southern, following the ending of the previous Southeastern service. History The railway line between and was opened by the South Eastern Railway on 26 May 1842. Nutfield station opened on that line on 1 January 1884, although a public siding named 'Mid Street' had been provided here from an early date. Nutfield is a village and civil parish in the Tandridge District of Surrey, England. It lies in the Weald immediately south of the Greensand Ridge and has a Nutfield railway station, railway station at South Nutfield which is one stop from Redhill railway station, Redhill, on the Redhill to Tonbridge Line. Sandling Railway Station
Sandling railway station is on the South Eastern Main Line in England, serving the village of Sandling and the town of Hythe, Kent. It is down the line from London Charing Cross. The station and all trains that call are operated by Southeastern. History The station was opened as Sandling Junction on 1 January 1888 by the South Eastern Railway (SER). The station was situated at the junction of the SER mainline (between and Folkestone and the Sandgate branch line that had opened in 1874 between and . There were four platforms with a footbridge over the mainline, two signal boxes and goods sidings either side of the branch line. Redhill–Tonbridge Line
The Redhill–Tonbridge line is a railway line in South East England that links Redhill, Surrey (on the Brighton Main Line) with Tonbridge, Kent (on the South Eastern Main Line). History It was originally part of the South Eastern Railway, having been sanctioned by Act of Parliament in 1836 as part of the first railway line from London to Dover. This may explain why the route runs in a remarkably straight line: serving the settlements en route was a secondary consideration. In the ticketing system of the British rail network, a Permit to Travel provisionally allows passengers to travel on a train when they have not purchased a ticket in advance and the ticket office of the station they are travelling from is closed, without incurring a penalty fare. North Downs Line
The North Downs Line is a passenger-train line connecting Reading, on the Great Western Main Line, to Redhill and , along the Brighton Main Line, linking many centres of population in that part of the North Downs which it traverses en route.
