Nurullah Ataç
Nurullah Ataç (21 August 1898 – 17 May 1957) was a Turkish writer, poet and literary critic. Life He was born on 21 August 1898 in Istanbul, then the capital of the Ottoman Empire. He studied in the Galatasaray High School and the Faculty of Letters of Istanbul University. After his father's death in 1921, he began serving as a French teacher in various schools in Istanbul. After the proclamation of the Turkish Republic he also served in Ankara and Adana. In 1926 he married Leman Ataç. He was appointed as an official translator of the presidency. He also served as the chairman of the media branch of the Turkish Language Association. Ataç contributed to several publications, including '' Yedigün''. and ''Adımlar''. Necmettin Hacıeminoğlu
Necmettin Hacıeminoğlu (10 November 1932, Maraş – 26 June 1996, Ankara) was a Turkish poet, linguist, and writer. His life Hacıeminoğlu was born in Maraş in 1932. His father, Mustafa, died when he was a baby. He moved to Adana to support his family and he continued his primary/high education in Adana. He discovered his interest in Turkish literature and Turkish language during those years (having been influenced by his brother Nihat's fondness of literature). With support of his literature teacher Şevken Kutkan, he started to write his first journal writings and began study with Nurullah Ataç. ''Adımlar'' ( tr, Steps) was a literary and political magazine which appeared in Ankara, Turkey, between May 1943 and April 1944. Its subtitle was ''Aylık Fikir ve Kültür Dergisi'' ( tr, Monthly Journal of Ideas and Culture). It is known for its cofounder, owner and editor-in-chief Behice Boran, a Turkish socialist politician, and for its introduction of humanist approach towards literature in the country. History and profile ''Adımlar'' was established by Behice Boran and Muzaffer Şerif Başoğlu in Ankara in 1943, and its first issue was published in May that year.
