Nursery Road station is a Baltimore Light Rail station in Pumphrey, Maryland. There are 37 free parking spaces and connections can be made to MTA Maryland's Route 17 bus from here. Though officially located at 6825 Baltimore-Annapolis Boulevard ( MD 648) the actual location of the Nursery Road stop is at the corner of Nursery Road and South Old Annapolis Road. Pumphrey is an unincorporated community and former census-designated place (CDP) in Anne Arundel County, Maryland, Anne Arundel County, Maryland, United States. At the 2000 census, the population was 5,317. It was split between the Linthicum, Maryland, Linthicum and Brooklyn Park, Maryland, Brooklyn Park CDPs for the 2010 census. LocalLink 75 is a bus route operated by the Maryland Transit Administration in Baltimore and its suburbs. The line currently runs from the Patapsco Light Rail Stop to Parkway Center in Anne Arundel County, via BWI Airport and Arundel Mills. Weekend trips and some weekday trips on this line terminate at Arundel Mills. The line operates between BWI Airport and downtown Baltimore during hours when the light rail is not operating. Maryland Route 168 (MD 168) is a state highway in the U.S. state of Maryland. Known as Nursery Road, the highway runs from Hammonds Ferry Road in Linthicum east to MD 648 in Pumphrey in northern Anne Arundel County. MD 168 was built in the late 1920s. Route description MD 168 begins at an intersection with Hammonds Ferry Road in a mixed commercial and industrial area at the northern end of the unincorporated community of Linthicum. Access between MD 168 and eastbound Interstate 695 (I-695, Baltimore Beltway) is via the county highway between the state highway and the Patapsco River to the north. The Washington, Baltimore and Annapolis Electric Railway (WB&A) was an American railroad of central Maryland and Washington, D.C., built in the 19th and 20th century. The WB&A absorbed two older railroads, the Annapolis and Elk Ridge Railroad and the Baltimore & Annapolis Short Line, and added its own electric streetcar line between Baltimore and Washington. It was built by a group of Cleveland, Ohio, electric railway entrepreneurs to serve as a high-speed, showpiece line using the most advanced technology of the time. Baltimore And Annapolis Railroad
The Baltimore & Annapolis Railroad was an American railroad of central Maryland built in the 19th century. The railroad, the second to serve Annapolis, ran between Annapolis and Clifford along the north shore of the Severn River. From Clifford, just north of the present day Patapsco Light Rail Stop, it connected with the B&O's Curtis Bay branch so that trains could travel to Baltimore. In 1921, when it was called the Annapolis and Baltimore Short Line, it was purchased by the larger Washington, Baltimore and Annapolis Electric Railway (WB&A), and then emerged from the WB&A's 1935 bankruptcy and closure as the Baltimore & Annapolis Railroad. B&A electric passenger operation between the two cities continued until 1950, at which time the rail line became solely a freight carrier, operating buses for passenger service.
