Nuris Arias
Nuris Arias Doñé (born May 20, 1973 in San Cristobal) is a retired volleyball player from the Dominican Republic, who won the gold medal with the women's national team at the 2003 Pan American Games in her home town of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. Career At the 2000 USA Volleyball Open Championships won by her team, Arias was selected among the All-Tournament team. Playing as a wing-spiker she also competed at the 2006 FIVB Women's World Championship for her native country, wearing the #9 jersey. San Cristóbal Province
San Cristóbal () is a province in the southern region of Dominican Republic, located west of the capital Santo Domingo. With approximately 642,000 inhabitants, it is the fourth most populated province in the country, only behind Santo Domingo, Santiago and the National District. It borders the provinces Monseñor Nouel (north), Monte Plata (northeast), Santo Domingo (east), Peravia (west) and San José de Ocoa (northwest). The Caribbean Sea borders the province to the south. The Mirador Sport and Cultural Center or simply Mirador is a women's volleyball club, based in Santo Domingo, Distrito Nacional, Dominican Republic. History The team was found 1970. With the help of Cosiri Rodríguez, who became the "Most Valuable Player" at the 2004 Distrito Nacional Superior Tournament, Mirador win the 9th consecutive and 23rd Championship, defeating Los Cachorros in the 7th game of the final series. The team won in 2006 its 24th title at the Distrito Nacional Volleyball Tournament. Mirador participated as ''CDN Mirador'' (Centro Deportivo Nacional and Mirador) at the 2008 edition of the Salonpas Cup finishing in 5th place. Bethania de la Cruz earned the Best Attacker award.
