Nuova AMG Sebastiani Basket Rieti, sometimes designed as NSB, was an Italian professional basketball based in Rieti, Lazio though it played one season (the 2009-10 season, its last) in Napoli, Campania. For past club sponsorship names, see sponsorship names. History The club was considered the successor of AMG Sebastiani Basket (named after Angelo, Mario and Gino Sebastiani, three sportsmen brothers from Rieti, executed by German soldiers in 1944). It had played in the first division Serie A from 1973 to 1983 and the second division Serie A2 from 1983 to 1988, winning the FIBA Korać Cup in 1980 before disappearing in 1997. Rieti
Rieti (; lat, Reate, Sabino: ) is a town and ''comune'' in Lazio, central Italy, with a population of 47,700. It is the administrative seat of the province of Rieti and see of the diocese of Rieti, as well as the modern capital of the Sabina region. The town centre stands on a small hilltop, commanding from the southern edge the wide Rieti valley, at the bottom of the Sabine hills and of monti Reatini, including mount Terminillo. The plain was once a large lake, drained by the ancient Romans, and is now the fertile basin of the Velino River. Only the small Ripasottile and Lungo lakes remain of the larger original. History Prehistory According to the legend, Reate was founded by Rea, a divinity (that would be the origin of the town name). It was founded at the beginning of the Iron Age (9th–8th century BC). Probably in earlier times the lands around Rieti were inhabited by Umbri, then by Aborigines and later on by Sabines, who reached the lands sited in the nearby of Te ...

Pallacanestro Virtus Roma
Pallacanestro Virtus Roma, commonly known as Virtus Roma, was an Italian professional basketball club based in Rome, Lazio. It competed in the first division of Italian basketball, the LBA, for the last time in the 2020–21 season. It was formerly a major side in Europe, winning the 1983–84 FIBA European Champions Cup ( EuroLeague), and at one time being one of only 13 clubs to hold a EuroLeague A license. However, its standing later waned, and Virtus became less competitive in both Europe and the domestic LBA - which it had won in 1983 – before being voluntarily relegated to the Italian second division in July 2015. In December 2020, Virtus was dissolved after the club was declared bankrupt after months of financial struggles. For past club sponsorship names, see sponsorship names. History The club was formed by the merger of two Roman sides, San Saba and Gruppo Borgo Cavalleggeri, under the name Virtus Aurelia in the late 1960s, the founding date of San Saba, 1960, w ...
