Nuo Folk Religion
Nuo folk religion, or extendedly Chinese popular exorcistic religion, is a variant of Chinese folk religion with its own system of temples, rituals, orders of priests and gods, which is interethnic and practiced across central and southern China but is also intimately connected to the Tujia people. It arose as an exorcistic religious movement, which is the original meaning of ''nuó'' (). It has strong influences from Taoism. One of the most distinguishing characters of Nuo folk religion is its iconographic style, which represents the gods as wooden masks or heads. Nuo Opera
Nuo opera or Nuo drama () is one of China's most popular folk operas. Characterized by its special features such as ferocious masks, unique dresses and adornments, the strange language used in performance, and mysterious scenes, Nuo opera has been selected as one of the non-material cultural legacies of China. The opera is a religious performance intrinsic to the culture of Nuoism, a type of Chinese folk religion. The purpose of Nuo opera is to drive away devils, disease and evil influences, and also to petition for blessings from the gods. Singing and dancing are included in Nuo opera and performers wear costumes and masks. Nuo opera is a direct and important expressive medium of Nuo culture. Other forms of representation of the Nuo culture include Nuo dance (), Nuo song (), Nuo sacrifice () and Nuo ceremony () and others. The unique symbol of Nuo opera, the masks, are considered a treasure of Chinese folk art.Zhang, Tianlin 张天林: ''Nuoxi: mysterious Chinese Opera and Its M ...

Nguồn Language
Nguồn (also Năm Nguyên) is a Vietic language spoken by the Nguồn people in the Annamite Range, Trường Sơn mountains in Vietnam's North Central Coast region as well as in nearby regions of Laos. Most Nguồn speakers in Vietnam live in the secluded Minh Hoa, Minh Hóa district of Quảng Bình Province, with others in the area around Đồng Lê, the seat of Tuyên Hoá District, approximately from the National Route 1 (Vietnam), National Highway 1. The Nguồn language has been variously described as a dialect of Vietnamese language, Vietnamese or as the southernmost dialect of Muong language, Mường. Some researchers who consider it more closely related to Mường find that those who connect it more closely with Vietnamese are more influenced by ethnographic and/or political concerns than linguistic evidence. Chamberlain (2003) and Sidwell (2009) count it as a third Viet–Muong language. Geographic location Most Nguồn live in Tuyên Hóa District (alongside the ...
