Nullarbor National Park
Nullarbor National Park is a protected area in the Australian state of South Australia located in the locality of Nullarbor about west of the state capital of Adelaide and about west of Ceduna. Founded in 1979, its extent was reduced in 2013 from to by the proclamation of the Nullarbor Wilderness Protection Area. As of 2013, it is bounded to the west by the Western Australia - South Australian state border, the north by the Nullarbor Regional Reserve and to the east and the south by the Nullarbor Wilderness Protection Area. It is classified as an IUCN Category VI protected area. In 1980, it was listed on the now-defunct Register of the National Estate. Nullarbor is a locality in the Australian state of South Australia located to the west of the town of Ceduna in the western part of the state immediately adjoining the border with Western Australia. Geography The name and extent of the locality was officially established on 26 April 2013 in respect to "the long established local name." Its name is derived from the use of "Nullarbor" in geographic features such as the Nullarbor Plain and protected areas such as the Nullarbor Regional Reserve. Nullarbor is bounded in the west by the Western Australia - South Australian state border, in the south by the coastline adjoining the Great Australian Bight, to the east by the localities of Yalata and Yellabinna and to the north by the Trans-Australian Railway. The Register of the National Estate was a heritage register that listed natural and cultural heritage places in Australia that was closed in 2007. Nullarbor Regional Reserve
Nullarbor Regional Reserve is a protected area in South Australia located about west of Ceduna. Its boundaries are defined by the Trans-Australian Railway to the north and by the Nullarbor National Park, the Nullarbor Wilderness Protection Area and the Yalata Indigenous Protected Area to the south. Its western boundary is with the Western Australia - South Australian state border while its eastern boundary adjoins the Yellabinna Regional Reserve. The northeastern corner of the reserve is the locations of Ooldea, and central north Cook on the railway line, and the northern boundary is adjacent to the Maralinga Tjarutja Aboriginal lands. Ceduna, South Australia
Ceduna ( ) is a town in South Australia located on the shores of Murat Bay on the west coast of Eyre Peninsula. It lies west of the junction of the Flinders and Eyre Highways around 786 km northwest of the capital Adelaide. The port town/suburb of Thevenard lies 3 km to the west on Cape Thevenard. The land border of the state of Western Australia (WA) bisects mainland Australia, nominally along 129th meridian east longitude (129° East). That land border divides WA from the Northern Territory (NT) and South Australia (SA).
