Nowra High School
Nowra High School is a government-funded co-educational comprehensive secondary day school, located in , in the South Coast region of New South Wales, Australia. Established in 1956, the school enrolled approximately 910 students in 2018, from Year 7 to Year 12, of whom eleven percent identified as Indigenous Australians and seven percent were from a language background other than English. The school is operated by the NSW Department of Education; the principal is Glen Kingsley. The school motto is "Wisdom Through Knowledge". Brian McGowan (Australian Politician)
Brian McGowan (23 September 1935 – 8 March 1994) was an Australian politician who was elected as a member of the New South Wales Legislative Assembly. Brian McGowan was born in the Sydney suburb of Stanmore, New South Wales, Stanmore. He left school at 14 and worked as an office boy, telephone technician, tram conductor, and professional fireman. After training at Wagga Wagga, New South Wales, Wagga Wagga Teachers College, McGowan worked at Tocumwal Primary School, Shepardstown Small School in 1961, Nowra High School, and was promoted to The Entrance High School to take up the position of English and History Master. Fiona Evon Phillips (, born 18 February 1970) is an Australian politician who has been the Labor member for Gilmore in the House of Representatives since the 2019 Australian federal election. In 2022, Phillips was re-elected over Liberal candidate Andrew Constance by 373 votes. Her narrow victory made Gilmore the most marginal electorate in Australia for this election. Anna Bligh
Anna Maria Bligh (born 14 July 1960) is a lobbyist and former Australian politician who served as the 37th Premier of Queensland, in office from 2007 to 2012 as leader of the Labor Party. She was the first woman to hold either position. In 2017, she was appointed CEO of the Australian Banking Association. Bligh was born in Warwick, Queensland, and studied at the University of Queensland. Before entering politics she worked for various community organisations.
