Reception

The review by Stephen Thomas Erlewine awarded the album 4½ stars stating "Duke Pearson returned to a big band setting for ''Now Hear This!'', once again proving his agility and inventiveness as an arranger and leader... Now Hear This (Howe II Album)
''Now Hear This'' is the second and final studio album by hard rock band Howe II, released in 1991 through Shrapnel Records. Following the album's release, guitarist Greg Howe would re-focus on his solo career, beginning with his 1993 album ''Introspection''. Critical reception Andy Hinds at AllMusic gave ''Now Hear This'' 2.5 stars out of 5, calling it "a more slickly produced offering than the early Van Halen inspired ''High Gear'' album", but otherwise "a disappointment; it sounds like a band that desperately wants mainstream success, even at the expense of its core values." He criticized the album for being "a blatant bid for stardom" and some of the songs as sounding "a bit muted this time around." Nonetheless he praised Greg's guitar playing, and listed "Crowd Pleaser" and "Motherlode" as highlights. Track listing Personnel *Albert Howe – lead vocals *Greg Howe – guitar, background vocals, production *Mike Mani – keyboard *Kevin Soffera – drums, background vocals ...

Now Hear This (film)
''Now Hear This'' is a 1962 Warner Bros. '' Looney Tunes'' cartoon directed by Chuck Jones and Maurice Noble, and written by Jones and John Dunn. The short was released on April 27, 1962. It was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film the following year. Background The title comes from a phrase used aboard American naval ships as an instruction to cease activity and listen to the announcement that will follow. Later, Jones described the film as "another picture I didn't understand," saying, "We kind of went out into — I don't know if it was left field; it was somewhere else I didn't understand. Jack Warner wasn't the only one who didn't understand that picture. I called it 'Chuck's Revenge', because it was one of the last pictures I made, and I was trying to find some way of infuriating him." This cartoon resembles a UPA cartoon (whose cartoons had used limited animation techniques) more than a typical Warner Bros. short of the time. Plot Satan, ...
