Nova Scotia U18 Major Hockey League
The Nova Scotia U18 Major Hockey League (NSU18MHL, formerly NSMMHL) is a Nova Scotian ice hockey league for Major AAA players under 18 years old. It is a part of and follows the regulations set by the Hockey Nova Scotia organisation. Successful players in this league often go on to play in the MHL and QMJHL. History The league was founded and began playing in the 1978-79 season as the ''Maritime Midget Hockey League''. During the first season there were 7 teams in the league with 4 based in Nova Scotia and 3 based in New Brunswick. Since its founding the league has rebranded multiple times, first as the ''Nova Scotia AAA Midget Hockey League'' (NSAAAMHL) in 1983, then as the ''Nova Scotia Major Midget Hockey League'' (NSMMHL) in 2002, and finally as the Nova Scotia U18 Major Hockey League in 2019. Sydney is a former city and urban community on the east coast of Cape Breton Island in Nova Scotia, Canada within the Cape Breton Regional Municipality. Logan Shaw (born October 5, 1992) is a Canadian professional ice hockey right winger for the Toronto Marlies in the American Hockey League (AHL). He was drafted 76th overall by the Florida Panthers in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft. Playing career Shaw played midget hockey within his native Nova Scotia with the Cape Breton Tradesmen before joining the major junior ranks with the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, after he was selected 12th overall in the 2008 QMJHL Entry Draft. Ryan Graves (ice Hockey)
Ryan Graves (born May 21, 1995) is a Canadian professional ice hockey defenceman for the Pittsburgh Penguins of the National Hockey League (NHL). Graves was selected by the New York Rangers, 110th overall, in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft. He has previously played for the Colorado Avalanche and New Jersey Devils. Morgan Barron
Morgan Andrew Barron (born December 2, 1998) is a Canadian professional ice hockey centre playing for the Winnipeg Jets of the National Hockey League (NHL). Born and raised in Nova Scotia, Barron played two seasons of minor ice hockey with the Newbridge Academy Gladiators of the Nova Scotia Major Midget Hockey League ( NSMMHL) before enrolling at St. Andrew's College in Ontario. Berwick is a Canadian town in Kings County, Nova Scotia. The town is located in the eastern part of the Annapolis Valley on the Cornwallis River. The Valley Wildcats are a Canadian junior ice hockey franchise from the Annapolis Valley region of Nova Scotia. The team is a member of the Maritime Junior A Hockey League and plays in the EastLink Division. They play their home games in the Kings Mutual Century Centre in Berwick, Nova Scotia. History The Antigonish Bulldogs were founded in 1967 as members of the Antigonish-Pictou-Colchester Junior B Hockey League. Pictou County is a county in the province of Nova Scotia, Canada. It was established in 1835, and was formerly a part of Halifax County from 1759 to 1835.
