Nots (band)
Nots are a three-piece noise-punk band from Memphis, Tennessee, Memphis, who released their debut album ''We Are Nots'' in 2014 and have toured North America and Europe. The band are fronted by Natalie Hoffmann (vocals/guitar) with Charlotte Watson (drums), Alexandra Eastburn (keyboards) and Meredith Lones (bass). The band are signed to Goner Records in North America and Heavenly Recordings, Heavenly in Europe. Career Originally from Nixa, Missouri, Nixa, Missouri, Hoffmann moved to Memphis in 2007 to attend the local Memphis College of Art, art college, where she studied photography and design. The band began in 2011 as a collaboration between Watson and Hoffmann while they were both members of other local bands. Hoffmann was a member of Ex-Cult while Watson played with the Manatees. Nixa, Missouri
Nixa is a city in Christian County, Missouri, United States. As of the 2020 census, the city's population was 23,257. It is a principal city, and the second largest city in the Springfield, Missouri Metropolitan Statistical Area. History The area was first settled by farmers who located their farms along the wooded streams near present-day Nixa. The area became a crossroads, as it was a half-day ride with a team of horses from Springfield. Teamsters found it a convenient stopover site when hauling freight between Springfield and Arkansas. The village became known as Faughts. An early resident, Nicholas A. Inman, was a blacksmith from Tennessee, who set up a shop in 1852. Memphis College of Art (MCA) was a private art college in Memphis, Tennessee. It was in Overton Park, adjacent to the Memphis Brooks Museum of Art. It offered Bachelor of Fine Arts, Master of Fine Arts, Master of Arts in Art Education and Master of Arts in Teaching degrees. However, it faced significant financial challenges and closed in the spring of 2020. History The college opened on October 5, 1936 and was once housed in the James Lee House in Victorian Village.
