Notre Dame Priory
Notre Dame Priory is a Roman Catholic Benedictine monastery in Colebrook, Tasmania, Australia, founded in 2017. The life of the community is in accordance with the Rule of Saint Benedict, and is centred around the traditional practice of prayer and work, as well as devotion to the traditional Latin Mass and Breviarium Monasticum. History The community was instituted as a private association of the faithful on 22 February 2017 by Fr Pius Mary Noonan O.S.B., formerly of the Abbey of Saint-Joseph de Clairval in Flavigny-sur-Ozerain, France, in the presence of Archbishop Julian Porteous of Hobart, and was installed in a property in Lindisfarne. Later the same year, the first group of four novices received the habit, and in December the community received canonical recognition as a public association of the faithful. Order Of Saint Benedict

The Abbey of Saint-Joseph de Clairval (french: Abbaye Saint-Joseph de Clairval) is a Benedictines, Benedictine abbey located in Flavigny-sur-Ozerain, in the Côte d'Or department. Founded in 1972, the abbey has no direct relationship with the Flavigny Abbey, which has not been occupied by Benedictine monks since the French Revolution. Belonging to the Olivetans, Olivetan branch, the monks wear the black Bure (cloth), bure and the white collar. History Saint-Joseph de Clairval was founded in 1972 by Dom Augustin-Marie Joly in Clairval, Switzerland. The abbey moved to Flavigny in 1976, since the owner wanting to recover the buildings in Clairval. In memory of this period, the community kept the name of Clairval. Despite the Tridentine Mass being supplanted by a new form of the Roman Rite Mass, some communities continued celebrating pre-conciliar rites or adopted them later. Lindisfarne, Tasmania
Lindisfarne is a suburb of Hobart's Eastern Shore, located approximately 6 kilometres from the City Centre and is part of the municipal City of Clarence. History The suburb originally took its name from ''Lindisferne House'', (Note: Suburb originally spelt incorrectly), a property built in the 1820s near the suburb of Rosny. At one time the suburb was known as Beltana from 1892, but, because of confusion with Bellerive, it was renamed Lindisfarne in 1903 after Lindisfarne a tidal Island (Holy Island) in Northumberland, England. The easternmost part of the middle of the suburb, where the Beltana Bowls Club and the Beltana Hotel are located, is still locally known as Beltana. Julian Charles Porteous (born 5 June 1949) is the Catholic Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Hobart, Archbishop of Hobart, Tasmania. He was previously Auxiliary Bishop of Sydney, Australia, Episcopal Vicar for Renewal and Evangelisation, and Titular Bishop of Urusi (2003–2013). Porteous was installed as Archbishop of Hobart on 17 September 2013. In 2015 Porteous distributed a booklet to 12,000 families with children in Catholic schools across Tasmania entitled "Don’t Mess With Marriage" - the Catholic position on marriage. The booklet argued of gay men and women that "pretending that their relationships are ‘marriages’ is not fair or just to them." There were calls by activists for others to refer the Archbishop to the Australian Anti-Discrimination Commissioner. Flavigny-sur-Ozerain
Flavigny-sur-Ozerain () is a commune in the French department of Côte-d'Or, in Bourgogne-Franche-Comté. The village was awarded membership in ''Les Plus Beaux Villages de France'' ("France's most beautiful villages"). Geography The medieval village of Flavigny is situated on a rocky spur, surrounded by three streams: the Ozerain, the Recluse and the Verpant. History The first written mention of the village of Flavigny was in the Latin form of its name, ''Flaviniacum'', which appears in the cartulary (or charter) of the Benedictine abbey founded on the site by a certain Widerard in 719.
