Nothin' But Trouble (Nia Peeples Album)
''Nothin' But Trouble'' is the debut studio album by American singer and actress Nia Peeples. It was released on August 30, 1988 by Mercury Records. Peeples decided to venture into the music industry after she came to recognition as a regular cast in the musical television series '' Fame''. She worked with Steve Harvey, Howard Hewett, Doc Powell and Tony Prendatt on the album. Musically, ''Nothin' But Trouble'' is a dance-pop and R&B album with influence of other popular genres at the time, such as freestyle and new jack swing. ''Nothin' But Trouble'' did not receive positive reviews from music critics who compared Peeples' style to Paula Abdul and Janet Jackson. The album spawned one hit single with a track originally recorded by La Toya Jackson. It was not a commercial success as it didn't receive any certifications. Virenia "Nia" Peeples (born December 10, 1961) is an American R&B and dance music singer and actress. Peeples is known for playing Nicole Chapman on the hit TV series '' Fame''; Pam Fields on the drama ''Pretty Little Liars''; Karen Taylor Winters on ''The Young and the Restless'' and Sydney Cooke on ''Walker, Texas Ranger''. Robert "Shep" Pettibone (born 10 July 1959) is an American record producer, remixer, songwriter and club DJ, one of the most prolific of the 1980s. Career Shep Pettibone surfaced after his work with Arthur Baker on Afrika Bambaataa & the Jazzy 5's "Jazzy Sensation" and as an in-house mix engineer for Prelude Records. During his recording career, he launched innovative "mastermixes" for New York's KISS FM. The popularity of these mixes persuaded Prelude Records to release some of them commercially. Pettibone built his brand through his personal approach to remixing tracks, specially crafted for the dancefloor. Acclaimed by DJs worldwide, he was the go-to man to achieve club and chart success. Haras Fyre (born January 5, 1953), also known professionally as Patrick Grant, is an American singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist. After writing songs for Sister Sledge and Ben E. King early in his career in a songwriting duo with his girlfriend Gwen Guthrie, Fyre spent some time in the backing band for The Drifters, before relocating to Switzerland to become a composer of music for corporate events. Gwendolyn Guthrie (July 9, 1950 – February 3, 1999) was an American singer-songwriter and pianist who also sang backing vocals for Aretha Franklin, Billy Joel, Stevie Wonder, Peter Tosh, and Madonna, among others, and who wrote songs made famous by Ben E.
