David Nothaker (born September 23, 1989), better known by his stage name Notaker (stylized as И O T A K E R), is an American DJ and producer based in St. Louis, Missouri. He is best known for his midtempo-progressive style and for breakout singles like "Infinite"," Shimmer", and " The Storm" which have amassed over 11 million, 2.5 million, and 3.7 million streams on Spotify respectively. Notaker has performed at music festivals across the United States including Global Dance Festival in Denver, Das Energy in Utah, and Freaky Deaky in Texas. Early life Nothaker first got into electronic music after attending his first electronic music show and then being encouraged by a friend to write music. Genesis is the second extended play by American electronic music producer Notaker. Genesis was released on October 24, 2017, by the independent electronic music label, Monstercat. Release On September 26, 2017, Monstercat released an unidentified teaser video for the extended play across social media with the caption "Just close your eyes...", presenting, what Jim Babaoglu of EDM Sauce described as a "black and white image of what appears to be some sort of vessel with cubes attached to it". "Shimmer" is a song by American DJ and electronic music producer Notaker. Canadian record label Monstercat released it on February 6, 2017. The song was originally released as part of the compilation album ''Monstercat 030 – Finale'', released February 22, 2017. Background and release Notaker began the writing process for the song over Independence Day (United States), Independence Day weekend in 2016, producing the song without many setbacks, with the only exception being a 'shout' Sampling (music), sample that occurs alongside the Snare drum, snare throughout the song. In attempts to pitch-up the sample, the quality of said sample diminished. To solve this issue, Notaker simply pitched everything in the track down to match the sample, which he described as a "long and tedious solution to what seemed to be a simple problem." "Saving Light" is a song by English trance producers Gareth Emery and Standerwick, featuring vocals from Haliene. Roxanne Emery, Haliene, Matthew Steeper, and Karra wrote the song. It premiered in June 2016, during the Electric Daisy Carnival music festival and was digitally released on 30 January 2017.
