''Not Guilty'' (French: ''Non coupable'') is a 1947 French crime drama film directed by Henri Decoin and starring Michel Simon, Jean Debucourt and Jany Holt.The A to Z of French Cinema p.120 It was shot at the Billancourt Studios in Paris. The film's sets were designed by the art director Emile Alex. Synopsis An alcoholic doctor, portrayed by Ancelin, accidentally kills someone when driving home intoxicated. Likely due to his knowledge of medicine, he manages to conceal the death as an accident. The situation unlocks a newfound self-confidence in the doctor which he then applies to other aspects of his life requiring repair. Henri Decoin
Henri Decoin (18 March 1890 – 4 July 1969) was a French film director and screenwriter, who directed more than 50 films between 1933 and 1964. He was also a swimmer who won the national title in 1911 and held the national record in the 500 m freestyle. He competed in the 400 m freestyle at the 1908 Summer Olympics and in the water polo tournament at the 1912 Summer Olympics. Biography During World War I, Decoin served as a pilot. After that he worked as a sports journalist for '' L'Auto'', ''L'Intransigeant'' and '' Paris-Soir''. In 1926 he published his first book, influenced by Dadaism, the experimental and prize-winning ''Quinze Combats'' (''Fifteen Rounds''), in which a boxing match is seen subjectively by a boxer, and in 1933 directed his first film, ''Les requins du pétrole'' (''The Oil Sharks''). Jean-Luc Brunel (1946 – 19 February 2022) was a French model scout. He gained prominence by leading the international modelling agency Karin Models, and founded MC2 Model Management, with financing by Jeffrey Epstein. The subject of a ''60 Minutes'' investigation in 1988, Brunel faced allegations of sexual assault spanning three decades. Brunel came under scrutiny for his ties to Epstein with whom he worked from the early 2000s to 2015. Brunel was accused of grooming young females and of partaking in the alleged sex trafficking ring run by Epstein. In 2019, French National Police launched an investigation on Brunel after he went into hiding following Epstein's death.
