Norwich CBS Football Club is a football club based in Norwich, Norfolk, England. They are currently members of the and play at the Football Development Centre in Bowthorpe. History The club was formed in 1888 as the works team of Norwich Union. They became members of the Norwich & District Business House League and were Division One champions in 1926–27, 1946–47 and 1947–48. The club then moved up to the East Anglian League, entering Division One in 1955. Bowthorpe
Bowthorpe is a suburban village to the west of Norwich, in the county of Norfolk, England. Geography Bowthorpe is primarily a residential area, but includes a large industrial estate (Bowthorpe Industrial Estate; occupied by mix-use commercial business, including the technology sector) and one small out-of-town shopping centre, containing a supermarket and various smaller retail outlets. A community hall is situated close to Bowthorpe village centre. A police station was located near the centre until it closed in 2018. Thorpe St Andrew
Thorpe St Andrew is a town and civil parish in the Broadland district of Norfolk, England. It is situated on the River Yare, two miles east of the centre of Norwich, and is outside the boundary of the city. The civil parish has an area of and had a population of 14,556 at the 2011 census; this was an increase from the 2001 figure of 13,762. It is the administrative headquarters of the Broadland district council. History Thorpe is in the Domesday Book, in which it is spelt ‘Torp’, which is a Scandinavian word meaning village (see Thorp). The 2017–18 FA Vase was the 44th season of the FA Vase, an annual association football, football competition for teams playing below Step 4 of the English National League System. The competition was played with two qualifying rounds preceding the six proper rounds, semi-finals (played over two legs) and final played at Wembley Stadium. All first-leg ties until the semi-finals were played with extra time if drawn after regulation – first-leg ties could also be resolved with penalties if both teams agreed and notified the referee at least 45 minutes before kick-off. The Football Association Challenge Vase, usually referred to as the FA Vase, is an annual football competition for teams playing in Steps 5 and 6 of the English National League System (or equivalently, tier 9 or 10 of the overall English football league system). For the 2017–18 season 619 entrants were accepted, with two qualifying rounds preceding the six proper rounds, semi-finals (played over two legs) and final to be played at Wembley Stadium. The 2022 winners were Newport Pagnell Town, who beat Littlehampton Town 3–0 at Wembley Stadium. History Until 1974, football players were either professionals or amateurs. The 2019–20 FA Cup (also known as the Football Association Challenge Cup) was the 139th edition of the oldest football tournament in the world. It was sponsored by Emirates and known as The Emirates FA Cup for sponsorship purposes. On 13 March 2020, it was agreed that the FA Cup, as well as the rest of professional football in England, would be suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Football Association Challenge Cup, more commonly known as the FA Cup, is an annual knockout football competition in men's domestic English football. First played during the 1871–72 season, it is the oldest national football competition in the world. It is organised by and named after The Football Association (The FA).
