Curling is a sport in which players slide stones on a sheet of ice toward a target area which is segmented into four concentric circles. It is related to bowls, boules, and shuffleboard. Two teams, each with four players, take turns sliding heavy, polished granite stones, also called ''rocks'', across the ice ''curling sheet'' toward the ''house'', a circular target marked on the ice. Each team has eight stones, with each player throwing two. Halden
Halden (), between 1665 and 1928 known as Fredrikshald, is both a town and a municipality in Viken county, Norway. Mille Haslev Nordbye (born March 6, 2001) is a Norwegian curler from Lillehammer. She currently plays second on the Norwegian women's curling team, skipped by Marianne Rørvik. Career Nordbye joined the Norwegian junior women's curling team as the second for the 2016–17 season. In her second season with the team, skipped by Maia Ramsfjell, they finished third at the 2018 World Junior B Curling Championships. This qualified them for the 2018 World Junior Curling Championships, where they were able to reach the playoffs with a 5–4 record. Martine Vollan Rønning (born December 17, 1999) is a Norwegian curler from Lillehammer. She currently plays lead on the Norwegian women's curling team, skipped by Marianne Rørvik. Career Rønning made her international debut at the 2015 European Junior Curling Challenge as the alternate on the Norwegian team skipped by Maia Ramsfjell. After a 5–1 round robin record, the team lost in the quarterfinal round to Italy. Rønning joined the Norwegian junior women's curling team as the third for the 2015–16 season. The team, skipped by Mari Forbregd, played in the 2016 World Junior B Curling Championships where they finished with a 2–4 record, missing the playoff round.
