Northwest Highway (Texas)
Northwest Highway is a major highway/road in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex area of Texas. The highway was originally built as the route of State Highway 114 (SH 114) into Dallas. The road has been the site of major development for almost half a decade, especially in Dallas. The route is known as other names at various points. This includes Northwest Parkway (SH 114 from SH 170 to the Dallas county line) and Northwest Drive in Mesquite. Route description SH 114 and Bus. SH 114-L Northwest Highway begins at SH 170 at the Westlake-Trophy Club line. Here, the highway is known as Northwest Parkway. The highway runs through Southlake and leaves SH 114 onto the Grapevine business route, Bus. SH 114-L. The Grapevine segment is the first to be signed as Northwest Highway. The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT ) is a government agency in the American state of Texas. Though the public face of the agency is generally associated with the construction and maintenance of the state's immense state highway system, the agency is also responsible for overseeing aviation, rail, and public transportation systems in the state. Texas State Highway 170
State Highway 170 (SH 170), also known as the Alliance Gateway Freeway, is a Texas state highway in the northern suburbs of Fort Worth in the Alliance area. The highway was designated in 1988. History Previous route A previous route numbered SH 170 was designated on August 3, 1932, as a connector route from the Oklahoma state line west to US 60 and US 83 near Canadian. This route was renumbered SH 33 on October 26, 1954, to coincide with OK 33, with which it connects. Current route The current SH 170 was designated in 1988. Construction of an interchange at SH 114 began in 2016. University Park, Texas
University Park is a city in Dallas County, Texas, United States of America, in suburban Dallas. The population was 23,068 at the 2010 census. The city is home to Southern Methodist University. University Park is bordered on the north, east and west by Dallas and on the south by the town of Highland Park. University Park and Highland Park together comprise the Park Cities, an enclave of Dallas. University Park is one of the most affluent places in Texas based on per capita income; it is ranked #12. In 2018, data from the American Community Survey revealed that University Park was the 2nd wealthiest city in the United States with a median household income of $198,438 and a poverty rate of 4.2%. Preston Hollow, Dallas
Preston Hollow is a neighborhood in north Dallas, Texas, USA. It is bordered on the south by the city of University Park, Texas. History Beginning in the 1850s, the first settlers began receiving land grants for Preston Hollow’s land. Among them were the Lively family on Guersney Lane, the Howell family, and the Meaders family. Other smaller farms, such as the dairy farm at 6303 Meadow, were also in Preston Hollow. In the 1920s, the first people started moving to Preston Hollow for residential purposes. Ralph Stichter was the first, purchasing many acres at the northeast corner of Preston and Walnut Hill. He built two estates on his property, one right at the corner and another at what is now 6126 Lakehurst, which still stands, in 1922. That same year, real estate developer Ira P.
