Northwest Christian University
Bushnell University is a Private university, private Christianity, Christian university in Eugene, Oregon. It is historically affiliated with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and the Christian churches and churches of Christ. The institution was renamed from Northwest Christian University in 2020. History The school was founded as a divinity school in 1895 by Disciple of Christ preacher and educator Eugene Claremont Sanderson as the Eugene Divinity School (EDS). In 1908 it became Eugene Bible University; in 1930 that name changed to Eugene Bible College. After a merger with Spokane University in 1934, it became known as Northwest Christian College and then Northwest Christian University in 2008. In 2020, it formally changed its named to Bushnell University, after James A. Bushnell, the first chairman of the university's board of trustees. New Hope Christian College is a Private college, private Bible college in Eugene, Oregon. It has a curriculum that centers on the vocational application of Biblical training including pastoral studies, Christian counseling, Christian education, intercultural studies, business, worship arts, and youth ministry. Mike Petersen (basketball)
Mike Petersen (born April 18, 1958) is a former head coach for the Atlanta Dream in 2021. Before joining the Women's National Basketball Association, Petersen worked as a head coach and assistant coach for American university basketball teams from the 1980s to 2010s. Petersen mainly worked in women's basketball as head coach of the Gonzaga, New Mexico State, TCU, Wake Forest and North Texas. With these teams, New Mexico State finished in sixth at the 1994 National Women's Invitational Tournament and enteredt the first round of the 1995 Women's National Invitation Tournament preseason event. Petersen also made it to the third round of the 2005 Women's National Invitation Tournament with Wake Forest. Mickey Loomis
Mickey Loomis is the executive vice president and General manager of the NFL's New Orleans Saints. He was named NFL executive of the year for 2006. From 2012-2019, he was also head of basketball operations for the New Orleans Pelicans of the National Basketball Association. Loomis grew up in Eugene, Oregon, and graduated from Willamette High School in 1974, then attended Northwest Christian University in Eugene, where he played basketball. Kylor Kelley (born August 26, 1997) is an American professional basketball player for the Austin Spurs of the NBA G League. He played college basketball for the Oregon State Beavers. Early life and high school career Kelley grew up playing basketball under the coaching of his mother, a former high school player. At age six or seven, he moved with his mother and brother from Utah to Oregon, after his parents split. Kelley played three years of varsity basketball for Gervais High School in Gervais, Oregon. While attending Gervais, he grew from 6'1 to 7'0 but did not weigh more than 185 pounds. NAIA independent schools are four-year institutional members of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) that do not have formal conference affiliations. NAIA schools that are not members of any other athletic conference are members of the Continental Athletic Conference (CAC), formerly the Association of Independent Institutions (AII), which provides member services to the institution and allows members to compete in postseason competition.
