Northern Territory Football Club, nicknamed NT Thunder, was a Northern Territory-based Australian rules football club that competed in the North East Australian Football League (NEAFL) between 2011 and 2019. It also competed in the VFL Women's in 2018-19. Under-19 boys and girls development teams, sporting the team uniform, continue the Thunder's representation in the NAB League Boys and Girls competitions. History The Northern Territory Thunder were formed in 2008 and were invited to join the West Australian Football League but instead opted to join the Queensland Australian Football League (QAFL). At the conclusion of the 2011 QAFL season the Thunder, along with nine other Queensland-based teams, were invited to join the newly formed North East Australian Football League. The Thunder finished the regular season with the best record in the Northern Conference and in doing so claimed their first ever minor premiership. North East Australian Football League
The North East Australian Football League (NEAFL) was an Australian rules football league in New South Wales, Queensland, the Australian Capital Territory and the Northern Territory. The league was formed in November 2010, and its inaugural competition was in 2011. It was a second division league, sitting below the national Australian Football League (AFL) and featured the reserves teams of the region's four AFL clubs playing alongside six non-AFL affiliated NEAFL senior teams. Josh Wagner (born 24 June 1994) is a former professional Australian rules footballer for the Melbourne Football Club in the AFL. A defender, tall and weighing , Wagner plays primarily on the half-back flank with the ability to push into the midfield. Eddie Sansbury
Edward (Eddie) Sansbury (born 26 November 1983) is an Australian rules football player who formerly played as a midfielder for the Kangaroos Football Club in the Australian Football League. He was drafted to the Kangaroos as a third round selection at pick 40 in the 2003 AFL Draft from the Central District Bulldogs in the South Australian National Football League. In the 2003 SANFL grand final he kicked 5 goals against the future Brownlow Medalist Adam Cooney. Eddie played as a forward midfielder during his career. Eric Hipwood (born 13 September 1997) is a professional Australian rules footballer playing for the Brisbane Lions in the Australian Football League (AFL). Andrew Ireland (born 7 March 1953) is a former Australian rules footballer who played for the Collingwood Football Club in the Victorian Football League (VFL). Ireland, who came to Collingwood from Ivanhoe, started his career as a forward and kicked 17 goals in his debut season before moving into defence. Andrew Luke McLeod (born 4 August 1976) is a former professional Australian rules footballer who played for the Adelaide Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). He is the games record holder for Adelaide, having played 340 games. McLeod is considered by many as the greatest player to have played for the Adelaide Football Club. Michael "Magic" McLean (born 3 March 1965) is a former professional Australian rules footballer who played for the Footscray Football Club, Brisbane Bears and Brisbane Lions in the Australian Football League (AFL). Jason Roe (born 13 March 1984) is an indigenous and former Australian rules football player for the Brisbane Lions in the Australian Football League (AFL). Originally playing for Nightcliff Football Club in the Northern Territory Football League (NTFL), then the Cairns City Cobras in the 2001–2002 seasons, Roe was selected in the 2002 rookie draft by the Collingwood Football Club and placed on its rookie list.
