Northern Pacific Hockey League
The Northern Pacific Hockey League (NPHL) was an American Tier III junior ice hockey league sanctioned by USA Hockey. Its championship trophy was the Cascade Cup. History Established in 2000 as the NorPac Junior Hockey League, the league was sanctioned as Junior B by USA Hockey. Six teams from Alaska, Oregon, Washington and the Yukon Territory competed in the inaugural season of 2000–01. In 2007, the NorPac was promoted to Tier III Junior A by USA Hockey. In 2011, USA Hockey dropped the letter designation in Tier III and had all Tier III compete in the same national tournament. In 2013, NorPac changed its abbreviated moniker to NPHL. The league announced three new members to start the 2014–15 season: Cheney Ice Hawks, Tacoma Knights and Wenatchee Wolves. Northern Pacific Field Hockey Conference
The Northern Pacific Field Hockey Conference (NorPac) was an NCAA Division I conference that only sponsored women’s field hockey. Founded in 1982, it began as a California-based conference, but expanded over time to include schools across the United States. Over time, most of the NorPac's eastern schools left the conference for various reasons. The conference played its last season in 2014 and formally disbanded at the end of the 2014–15 school year. The four founding members, all from California, became single-sport members of the America East Conference. The two remaining eastern schools, Appalachian State and Liberty, became Division I field hockey independents. Both would join conferences in the coming years; Liberty became a single-sport member of the Big East Conference in 2016, and Appalachian State became a single-sport member of the Mid-American Conference in 2017. Butte Roughriders
The Butte Roughriders were a Tier III Junior A ice hockey team located in Butte, Montana. The team joined the Northern Pacific Hockey League's America West Division in 2003 when the league competed at the Tier III Jr. B level. In 2007 The NorPac was granted Tier III Junior A status by USA Hockey. In November 2011, it was announced that the Roughriders had withdrawn from NorPac because they were unable to field the minimum number of players required due to injuries and players leaving the team. NBC Montana
NBC Montana is a regional network of three television stations in western Montana, United States, affiliated with NBC and owned by the Sinclair Broadcast Group. Cities served include Missoula, Kalispell, Butte, and Bozeman. Most station operations, including news production, are based at the Missoula studios of KECI-TV (channel 13); the other main stations are KCFW-TV (channel 9) in Kalispell, KTVM-TV (channel 6) in Butte, and KDBZ-CD (channel 6) in Bozeman. The Bozeman Icedogs are a Tier III Junior ice hockey team located in Bozeman, Montana. The team is a member of the North American 3 Hockey League (NA3HL). The Icedogs play home games at the Haynes Pavilion located at the Gallatin County Fairgrounds. History Founded in 1996 by a Michigan-based investment group, the Icedogs played in the Tier II Junior A American Frontier Hockey League (AFHL) from 1996 to 1998. The Western States Hockey League (WSHL) was a junior ice hockey league established in 1993. It was sanctioned by the United Hockey Union, the junior hockey branch of the Amateur Athletic Union. Previously, it was sanctioned by USA Hockey from 1994 to 2011. Teams played approximately 50 games in the regular season schedule, mimicking what players would experience at the collegiate level. The North American Hockey League (NAHL) is one of the top junior hockey leagues in the United States and is in its 48th season of operation in 2022–23. It is the only Tier II junior league sanctioned by USA Hockey, and acts as an alternative to the Tier I United States Hockey League (USHL). The NAHL is one of the oldest junior hockey leagues in the United States and is headquartered in Addison, Texas. The teams span the United States from Maine in the East to Alaska in the Northwest and to Texas in the South. The Billings Bulls were a junior ice hockey organization based in Billings, Montana. They most recently played home games at the 550-seat Centennial Ice Arena and due to the arena's small size, the Bulls frequently sold out games. Puget Sound Tomahawks
The West Sound Warriors were a junior ice hockey that played at the Bremerton Ice Center in Bremerton, Washington. Formerly, the team was a USA Hockey-sanctioned Tier III ice hockey team that played in the Northern Pacific Hockey League (NorPac/NPHL) and the United States Premier Hockey League-USP3 (USPHL-USP3). In the 2017–18 season, the team was an AAU-sanctioned junior team in the Western States Hockey League. Town Toyota Center is a 4,300-seat multi-purpose arena in Wenatchee, Washington. The arena was built and is owned and managed by the Wenatchee Public Facilities District (PFD).
