Northern Knights Cricket Team
MTB Northern Knights is a first-class provincial cricket team in Ireland. Along with the North West Warriors and Leinster Lightning it makes up the Inter-Provincial Championship, and with those teams and Munster Reds makes up the Interprovincial One-Day Trophy & Interprovincial Twenty20 Cup. The team represents Northern Cricket Union of Ireland which in turn covers most of eastern, southern and much of western Ulster. History In 2013, Cricket Ireland formed a three-day Interprovincial Championship, featuring teams from Leinster, NCU and the North West. The NCU team is known as the Northern Knights. On 8 April, they announced Eugene Moleon as their coach and Gavin Rogers as his assistant coach. Up to and including the 2016 Inter-Provincial Championship, the matches were not given first-class status. Mark Adair
Mark Richard Adair (born 27 March 1996) is an Irish international cricketer from Northern Ireland, currently playing for Northern Knights in domestic cricket. He has played county cricket in England for Warwickshire County Cricket Club. He is a right-arm fast bowler, who also bats right-handed. He made his international debut in May 2019. In January 2020, he was one of nineteen players to be awarded a central contract from Cricket Ireland, the first year in which all contracts were awarded on a full-time basis. Domestic and T20 career Adair's first wicket in first-class cricket was Marcus Trescothick. North West Of Ireland Cricket Union
The North West of Ireland Cricket Union, often referred to as the North West Cricket Union, is one of five provincial governing bodies in Ireland. Along with the Connacht, Leinster, Munster and Northern unions, it makes up the Irish Cricket Union (now known as Cricket Ireland), the supreme governing body of Irish cricket. The North West jurisdiction covers counties Fermanagh and Londonderry and part of Tyrone in Northern Ireland and Donegal in the Republic of Ireland. All of these counties are in Ulster, the northern province in Ireland. The Union organises the North West Senior Cup and the North West Senior League. The Union was formed as the County Derry Cricket Union in 1890, changing to the current name in 1907 to reflect the wider geographical basis of its membership. Off spin is a type of finger spin bowling in cricket. A bowler who uses this technique is called an off spinner. Off spinners are right arm, right-handed spin bowling, spin bowlers who use their fingers to spin the ball. Their normal Delivery (cricket), delivery is an off break, which spins from left to right (from the bowler's perspective) when the ball bounces on the cricket pitch, pitch. Paul Stirling
Paul Robert Stirling (born 3 September 1990) is an Irish cricketer. Stirling is the opening batsman for the Ireland cricket team and an occasional right arm off break bowler. He is one of the top 10 run scorers in T20 internationals. He was one of the eleven cricketers to play in Ireland's first ever Test match, against Pakistan, in May 2018. Carrickfergus Cricket Club
Carrickfergus Cricket Club is a cricket club in Carrickfergus, County Antrim, Northern Ireland, playing in the Premier League of the NCU Senior League. The club was established in 1868, and was one of the founder member clubs of the Northern Cricket Union in 1887 and remains one of the oldest surviving clubs in Ireland. Despite this longevity and pedigree, the club led a nomadic existence for more than 100 years. It was not until 1988 that their superb Middle Road ground and facilities were opened.
