Northbrooks Secondary School
Northbrooks Secondary School (NBrSS) is a co-educational government secondary school located in Yishun, Singapore. History Northbrooks opened with its first intake on 3 January 2000 with eight Secondary 1 classes. Built at a cost of over S$23 million, the school is fully equipped with IT facilities and is set amidst the surroundings of Yishun Park. CCA Name origin The name Northbrooks is derived from the Chinese idiom ''yin shui si yuan'' (饮水思源), which means to think of the source when one drinks water. Its meaning has two aspects: 1. to have water to drink depends on all kinds of conditions. 2. The quality of the water depends on its source. Facilities Facilities in the school includes The Brooks, a park which contains different plant and animal species, four computer labs, a rock wall, a street soccer court, and an indoor sports hall. Yishun
Yishun, formerly known as Nee Soon, is a residential town located in the northeastern corner of the North Region of Singapore, bordering Simpang and Sembawang to the north, Mandai to the west, the Central Water Catchment to its southwest, Ang Mo Kio to its south, as well as Seletar and Sengkang to its east and southeast respectively. Yishun Park
Yishun Park is a 14-hectare park located in Yishun, Singapore. It is within the vicinity of Northland Primary School, SAFRA Yishun Country Club and Yishun Park Hawker Centre. The park is connected to Yishun Pond Park by an 84-meter elevated bridge. History Plans for the development of Yishun Park were first announced in November 1993, and the park was opened to the public in January 1995. Developed at a cost of , the park occupied what was previously plantation and farm land, and retained most of the site's preexisting vegetation. Covering an area of , the park featured a tall hill with a stand of fruit trees, an area for the playing of board games that took after a Chinese chess board, a playground for children of different age groups, fitness stations, and a foot reflexology path.
