North West Thunder
North West Thunder, commonly referred to as Thunder, are a women's cricket team that represent Lancashire and North West England, one of eight regional hubs in English domestic women's cricket. They play their home matches at various grounds, including Old Trafford Cricket Ground. They are captained by Eleanor Threlkeld and coached by Paul Shaw. The team carries over many elements of the WCSL team Lancashire Thunder, but are now partnered with Lancashire, Cheshire and Cumbria. History In 2020, women's cricket in England was restructured, creating eight new 'regional hub' teams, with the intention of playing both 50-over and 20-over cricket. Paul Shaw (cricketer)
Paul Frank Shaw (born 28 July 1967) is a former English cricketer. Shaw was a left-handed batsman who bowled right-arm medium pace. He was born in Burton upon Trent, Staffordshire. Shaw made his debut for Staffordshire in the 1992 Minor Counties Championship against Northumberland. Shaw played Minor counties cricket for Staffordshire from 1992 to 2004, which included 64 Minor Counties Championship matches and 21 MCCA Knockout Trophy matches. In 1993, he made his List A debut against Hampshire in the NatWest Trophy. He made 11 further appearances in List A cricket, the last coming against Lancashire in the 2004 Cheltenham & Gloucester Trophy. Alex Hartley (cricketer)
Alexandra Hartley (born 6 September 1993) is an English former cricketer who played as a left-arm orthodox spin bowler. Between 2016 and 2019, she appeared in 28 One Day Internationals and four Twenty20 Internationals for England, and was part of the side that won the 2017 World Cup. She played domestic cricket for Lancashire, Middlesex, Surrey Stars, Lancashire Thunder, North West Thunder, Manchester Originals and Welsh Fire in England, as well as Tasmania and Hobart Hurricanes in Australia. Early life Hartley was born on 6 September 1993 in Blackburn, Lancashire. Hartley attended Ribblesdale High School in Clitheroe, Ribble Valley. Chester Boughton Hall Cricket Club
Chester Boughton Hall Cricket Club (often called Chester BH) is a cricket club that is based in Boughton, Chester, England. The club has four senior XIs playing Saturday sides that compete in the Cheshire County Cricket League of which the 1st XI is in the ECB Premier League. History The first game at Boughton Hall was played 20 May 1873. In the 1870s Boughton Hall was a large private house standing in spacious grounds. The owner of the time, Mr John Thompson, acquired a taste for cricket on his scholastic travels which took him to Rossall School and then Cambridge. Thompson, upon his return, converted part of the Hall's grounds into a cricket field to which he invited friends to play, under his captaincy, as Boughton Hall Cricket Club. Aigburth Cricket Ground, Liverpool
__NOTOC__ Aigburth Cricket Ground in Liverpool, England, is the home of Liverpool Cricket Club. The club was founded in 1807 and is the oldest amateur sports club in Merseyside. The ground hosted its maiden first-class cricket match in 1881, a fixture between Lancashire and Cambridge University. The ground was kept by the former first-class cricketer George Ubsdell for a 12-year period following the end of his first-class career in 1870. Designed by Thomas Harnett Harrison and built in 1880, the pavilion is the oldest remaining at a first-class cricket ground. The first Women's Cricket World Cup was held in England in 1973. 2022 Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy
The 2022 Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy was the third edition of the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy, an English women's cricket 50-over domestic competition, which took place between 2 July and 25 September 2022. It featured eight teams playing in a round-robin group, followed by a knock-out round. The holders were the Southern Vipers, who won the first two editions of the competition. It ran alongside the Charlotte Edwards Cup. The tournament was named after former England captain Rachael Heyhoe Flint, Baroness Heyhoe-Flint, who died in 2017. Northern Diamonds finished top of the group stage, qualifying directly for the final. South East Stars and Southern Vipers qualified for the play-off, which was won by Vipers to set up the third Vipers versus Diamonds final in the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy in its three years of existence. The 2021 Charlotte Edwards Cup, initially named the 2021 Women's Regional T20, was the first edition of the Charlotte Edwards Cup, an English women's cricket Twenty20 domestic competition took place between 26 June and 5 September 2021. It featured eight teams playing in two double round-robin groups, followed by a Finals Day. South East Stars won the tournament, beating Northern Diamonds in the final. Hannah Emily Jones (born 10 February 1999) is an English cricketer who currently plays for Lancashire and North West Thunder. She plays as a slow left-arm orthodox bowler. She has previously played for North Representative XI and Manchester Originals. Early life Jones was born on 10 February 1999. She plays club cricket for Didsbury Cricket Club. Domestic career Jones made her county debut in 2014 for Lancashire in a match against Ireland, in which she bowled 5 overs, with 4 maidens and conceding just 4 runs. She took five wickets apiece in both the County Championship and Twenty20 Cup, with an economy rate of just 2.55 in the Championship. Emma Louise Lamb (born 16 December 1997) is an English cricketer who plays for Lancashire Women, North West Thunder and Manchester Originals, and has previously played for Lancashire Thunder. Lamb is a batting all-rounder, and bowls off spin. She made her international debut for the England women's cricket team in September 2021. Personal life Lamb is from Preston, Lancashire, England. She studied at Edge Hill University, graduating in 2019. Her brother Danny plays for the Lancashire men's team, and she played alongside him when she became the first female cricketer to take part in the Cheshire County Premier League. Club career Lamb played at youth level for Lancashire Women, and was their player of the year on two occasions. She averaged over 100 in under-17 level cricket.
