New York State Route 8 (NY 8) is a north-south state highway in the central part of New York in the United States. It runs in a southwest-to-northeast direction from the Southern Tier to the northern part of Lake George. The southern terminus of the route is at an interchange with NY 17, where it begins concurrent with NY 10 in the town of Deposit. Brant Lake is a hamlet in the town of Horicon in Warren County, New York, United States. It is located approximately halfway between Albany to the south and Plattsburgh to the north. History Since the mid-1880s, Brant Lake has been a popular fishing and hunting area among wealthy visitors, including Theodore Roosevelt.
