Beigang Island
Beigang Island (), literally North Port Island, is a small island located in the mouth of Dongzhai Harbor, Hainan, China. There are three villages, fish farms, and some mangroves on the island. Beigang Island is under the jurisdiction of Meilan District. History Beigang Island was originally part of the mainland to its west. The 1605 Nankai earthquake, which saw the sinking of 72 other villages, separated it and it then became an island. It has been inhabited for around 400 years. In July 2014, Typhoon Rammasun caused extensive damage to the island. Around 70% of the houses that were constructed with tiled roofs were damaged or destroyed. Also, about 123 fishing boats sunk or were destroyed. Much of the island was submerged beneath 1.5 metres of water causing damaged to the food supplies of 70% of the families there. North Port, Florida
North Port is a city located in Sarasota County, Florida, United States. The population was 74,793 at the 2020 US Census. It is part of the North Port–Bradenton–Sarasota Metropolitan Statistical Area. It was originally developed by General Development Corporation as the northern / Sarasota County portion of its Port Charlotte development, the other portion located in the adjacent Charlotte County. GDC dubbed the city ''North Port Charlotte'', and it was incorporated under that name through a special act of the Florida Legislature in 1959. By referendum in 1974, the city's residents approved a change to its name as ''North Port'', dropping ''Charlotte'' from its name to proclaim the city as a separate identity. It is home to the Little Salt Spring, an archaeological and paleontological site owned by the University of Miami. North Port Light Rail Station
North Port is a light rail station and a former railway station on Port Melbourne railway line, first significant railway in Melbourne, Australia. The station is located in the inner Melbourne suburb of Port Melbourne, Victoria, Port Melbourne, Victoria (Australia), Victoria, Australia. Though it was closed in 1987 for conversion to light rail, Melbourne tram route 109 now runs through the station with newly built low-floor platforms. The station was located to the south of Raglan Street and between Evans Street and Station Street.
