North Philipsburg is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) in Centre County, Pennsylvania, United States. It is part of the State College, Pennsylvania Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 660 at the 2010 census. Geography North Philipsburg is located in western Centre County at (40.907342, -78.208782), in Rush Township. It is bordered to the southwest by the borough of Philipsburg and to the northwest by Moshannon Creek, the boundary with Clearfield County. The creek is a northward-flowing tributary of the West Branch Susquehanna River. U.S. Route 322 runs through Philipsburg, just south of the North Philipsburg boundary, leading southeast to Interstate 99 at Port Matilda and northwest to Clearfield. Black Moshannon State Park
Black Moshannon State Park is a Pennsylvania state park in Rush Township, Centre County, Pennsylvania, United States. It surrounds Black Moshannon Lake, formed by a dam on Black Moshannon Creek, which has given its name to the lake and park. The park is just west of the Allegheny Front, east of Philipsburg on Pennsylvania Route 504, and is largely surrounded by Moshannon State Forest. A bog in the park provides a habitat for diverse wildlife not common in other areas of the state, such as carnivorous plants, orchids, and species normally found farther north. As home to the "largest reconstituted bog in Pennsylvania", it was chosen by the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources for its "25 Must-see Pennsylvania State Parks" list. The northern terminus is at PA 144 in the Snow Shoe Township community of Moshannon. Interstate 99 (I-99) is an Interstate Highway in the United States with two segments: one located in central Pennsylvania, and the other in southern New York.
