The North Melbourne Football Club, nicknamed the Kangaroos, is a professional Australian rules football club. The men's team competes in the Australian Football League (AFL), and the women's team in the AFL Women's (AFLW). The Kangaroos also field a reserves men's team in the Victorian Football League (VFL). Founded in the suburb of North Melbourne in 1869 and based at the Arden Street Oval, it is the 4th oldest club in the competition and one of the oldest surviving clubs in the world. Its original home at Arden Street continues to serve as its headquarters, training facilities and home ground for its women's side. The club's senior men's team plays its home matches at Marvel Stadium in the Docklands area of Melbourne, Victoria, as well as Blundstone Arena in Hobart, Tasmania which is also used by the women's team as a secondary home ground. 1914 VFA Season
The 1914 Victorian Football Association season was the 38th season of the Australian rules football competition. The premiership was won by the North Melbourne Football Club, after it defeated by 35 points in the final on 22 August. It was the club's fourth VFA premiership, and marked the beginning of a period of unprecedented dominance for , which included three consecutive premierships, and a 58-match winning streak which lasted from 1914–1919. Bellerive Oval
Bellerive Oval, known commercially as Blundstone Arena for sponsorship reasons, is a cricket and Australian rules football ground located in Bellerive, a suburb on the eastern shore of Hobart, Australia, holding 20,000 people it is the largest capacity stadium in Tasmania. It is the only venue in Tasmania which hosts international cricket matches. The venue is the home ground for the state cricket teams, the Tasmanian Tigers and Hobart Hurricanes, as well as a venue for international Test matches since 1989 and one-day matches since 1988. Docklands Stadium, also currently known by naming rights sponsorship as Marvel Stadium, is a multi-purpose sports and entertainment stadium in the Docklands area of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. Construction started in October 1997 and was completed in 2000 at a cost of A$460 million. Nikki Wallace (born 30 July 1994) is an Australian rules footballer who last played for the Brisbane Lions in the AFL Women's. Early life Wallace was born in 1994 in Berwick, Victoria. Her family moved to the Coffs Harbour region of NSW and she was first introduced to AFL at the Sawtell Toormina Saints club under coach Tony Linnett. She was playing for Coolangatta Tweed Heads when she was drafted. AFLW career Wallace was recruited by with the number 114 pick in the 2016 AFL Women's draft. Flynn Appleby (born 21 January 1999) is an American college football punter with the Rutgers Scarlet Knights and a former professional Australian rules footballer who played for Collingwood in the Australian Football League. State football As a junior, Appleby played for local club Cohuna Kangas. Luke Donald McDonald (born 9 February 1995) is an Australian rules footballer who plays for the North Melbourne Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). He was recruited under the Father-son rule with the eighth selection in the 2013 national draft. Darren Crocker (born 26 March 1967) is a former Australian rules footballer who is currently the coach of the AFL Women's team. He formerly played for the North Melbourne Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). Playing career Crocker played in the 1996 AFL Grand Final against the Sydney Swans.
