North High School (North St. Paul, Minnesota)
North High School is a public 9-12 high school located in North Saint Paul, Minnesota, United States. It is one of two high schools in the ISD 622 District. The other high school in ISD 622 is Tartan Senior High School in Oakdale, Minnesota. History Founded in 1905, North High School has been forced to rebuild on five occasions due to growing enrollment. In 2005 North High celebrated its centennial. In 2010 ''Newsweek'' named North High as one of the top 1,300 schools in the country. A new school building was constructed with the school planned to stand four floors high. This however was cut to three to stay within the budget. The school was also encased in bricks halfway up the exterior of the building, also as to not exceed the budget. North Saint Paul (abbreviated North St. Paul) is a city in Ramsey County, Minnesota, Ramsey County, Minnesota, United States, located east-northeast of the city of Saint Paul, Minnesota, Saint Paul. Louis Dennis Varland (born December 9, 1997) is an American professional baseball pitcher for the Minnesota Twins of Major League Baseball (MLB). Career Varland attended North High School in North St. Paul, Minnesota and played college baseball at the Concordia University, St. Paul. He was drafted by the Minnesota Twins in the 15th round of the 2019 Major League Baseball draft. Varland made his professional debut with the Elizabethton Twins. He did not play for a team in 2020, due to the Minor League Baseball season being cancelled because of the COVID-19 pandemic. He returned in 2021 to pitch for the Fort Myers Mighty Mussels and Cedar Rapids Kernels. James Patrick O'Brien (born January 29, 1989) is an American professional ice hockey forward who is currently an unrestricted free agent. He most recently played for the then Thomas Sabo Ice Tigers in the Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL). Playing career O'Brien played junior hockey for the United States National Under-18 Team in the NAHL from 2004 until 2006. He then entered the University of Minnesota and played a season of hockey for the Golden Gophers as a 17-year-old. Allison Thunstrom (born April 20, 1988) is an American ice hockey forward for the Boston Pride in the Premier Hockey Federation (PHF). Bret Michael Hedican (born August 10, 1970) is an American former professional ice hockey player, a Stanley Cup champion, and a two-time US Olympian. Trick Pony was an American country music group, formed in 1999 by Heidi Newfield (lead vocals, acoustic guitar, harmonica), Keith Burns (lead guitar, vocals), and Ira Dean (bass guitar, vocals). They recorded three studio albums: ''Trick Pony'', '' On a Mission'', and ''R.I.D.E.'', released in 2001, 2002, and 2005.
