	Jarrod Lowery Jarrod Lowery (born October 7, 1988) is an American politician who is serving as a Republican member of the North Carolina House of Representatives from the 47th district. He was elected to the seat in the 2022 election against Democratic opponent Charles Townsend He is also a member of the Lumbee Tribe of North Carolina. He has been part of Pat McCrory's senior staff, as a Regional Outreach Liaison. In 2017, he became Regional Director for North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey. Lowery served six years in the United States Marine Corps as a tank technician. He graduated from Purnell Swett High School and is a Christian as a member of Galilee Baptist Church in Red Springs. He served as a Sunday school teacher for almost a decade. The county was formed in 1787 from part of Bladen County and named in honor of Thomas Robeson, a colonel who had led Patriot forces in the area during the Revolutionary War.
