Norman Wong
Norman Wong is an American writer and activist. He is best known for his 1995 short story collection ''Cultural Revolution'', which was one of the first book-length works of LGBT literature ever published by an Asian American writer. Biography Born and raised in Honolulu, he is a graduate of the University of Chicago and Johns Hopkins University. He is currently enrolled at the William S. Richardson School of Law at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa. His stories have appeared in '' Men's Style'', ''Kenyon Review'', the '' Asian Pacific American Journal'' and the ''Threepenny Review''. Writer's Voice
In literature, writing style is the manner of expressing thought in language characteristic of an individual, period, school, or nation. As Bryan Ray notes, however, style is a broader concern, one that can describe "readers' relationships with, texts, the grammatical choices writers make, the importance of adhering to norms in certain contexts and deviating from them in others, the expression of social identity, and the emotional effects of particular devices on audiences." Avon Publications is one of the leading publishers of romance fiction. At Avon's initial stages, it was an American paperback book and comic book publisher. The shift in content occurred in the early 1970s with multiple Avon romance titles reaching and maintaining spots in bestseller lists, demonstrating the market and potential profits in romance publication. ''The Threepenny Review'' is an American literary magazine founded in 1980. It is published in Berkeley, California, by founding editor Wendy Lesser. Maintaining a quarterly schedule (March, June, September, December), it offers fiction, memoirs, poetry, essays and criticism to a readership of 10,000. Without the support of patrons or a university, the publication has an annual budget of $200,000. Asian Americans are Americans of Asian ancestry (including naturalized Americans who are immigrants from specific regions in Asia and descendants of such immigrants).
