Norman Leonard Williams (23 September 1899 – 31 May 1947) was an Australian first-class cricketer who played for South Australia from 1919/20 to 1928/29. Born in Semaphore, South Australia to Captain Thomas and E.J. Williams, Williams was the brother of Lou, Ethel, Fred, Tom and Jack."Family Notices", ''The Advertiser'', 5 June 1947, p. 16. Norman Williams (RAAF Officer)
Norman Francis Williams, (3 November 1914 – 30 June 2007) served as an air gunner in Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) bombers in the Second World War, becoming its most highly decorated non-commissioned officer. A rear gunner in a Halifax bomber, he was credited with shooting down 8 German aircraft and damaging several others, making him the RAAF's only "ace" who was not a fighter pilot. Early life Williams was born in Narrandera, New South Wales, the eldest child of Elsie Mary Gibbs and William Francis Williams. He was educated on the family farm until the family moved to Leeton, New South Wales, where his father ran a garage. He attended St Joseph's Convent School and then the Catholic College run by the Marist Brothers in Sale, Victoria. He left school aged 16, and worked in Leeton. Norman Williams (politician)
Norman Williams (October 6, 1791 – January 12, 1868) was a Vermont attorney and politician. He served as Vermont's Auditor of Accounts and Secretary of State. Early life Norman Williams was born October 6, 1791 in Woodstock, Vermont son of Jesse Willams (1761-1842) and Hannah Palmer (1769-1837) and graduated from the University of Vermont in 1810. He then studied law, attained admission to the bar in 1814 and established a practice in Woodstock. Williams served in the War of 1812 and afterwards continued his military service as a member of the militia. Following his military service Williams resumed practicing law. Norman Powell Williams
Norman Powell Williams (1883–1943), known as N. P. Williams, was an Anglican theologian and priest. Educated at Durham School and at Christ Church, Oxford, he enjoyed a succession of appointments at that university: Fellow of Magdalen (1906), Chaplain of Exeter (1909), Lady Margaret Professor of Divinity and Canon of Christ Church (1927). In 1924 he was Bampton lecturer. His 1924 Bampton Lectures were published in 1929 under the title ''The Ideas of the Fall and of Original Sin'', which continues to be an influential source for students of original sin to this day. He served as the Lady Margaret's Professor of Divinity at Oxford, from 1927 until his death in April, 1943. Also in 1927, he became the Canon of Christ Church, Oxford. Professor Sir Norman Stanley Williams (born 15 March 1947) is a British surgeon and former President of the Royal College of Surgeons of England (2011–14). History Born in Leeds, he was educated at Roundhay School, Leeds, and at the London Hospital Medical College (University of London). He attended the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), as a Fulbright scholar in 1980. Professional career In 1982, he was appointed Senior Lecturer/Honorary Consultant Surgeon at the University of Leeds and the Leeds General Infirmary.
