Norman Marshall (publishing)
Norman Edgar Marshall (27 February 1924 – 11 August 2007) was a West Indies cricket team, West Indian international cricketer. He was born in the Welchman Hall Plantation, Saint Thomas, Barbados, Saint Thomas, Barbados and played in a Test cricket, Test match against Australia in Australian cricket team in West Indies in 1954-55, 1955. His brother Roy Marshall, Roy also played Test cricket for the West Indies and scored over 30,000 first class runs, mostly for Hampshire County Cricket Club, Hampshire. Marshall was an all-rounder who bowled off-spin and played in the middle order as an attacking right-handed batsman. He played most of his first class cricket for Barbados but appeared for Trinidad four times while he was working there in 1954 and 1955. His top score was 134 for Barbados against British Guiana in 1951–52, and his best bowling figures were 6 for 117 against Jamaica in 1946–47. Barbados Cricket Team
The Barbados national cricket team is the national cricket team of Barbados, organised by the Barbados Cricket Association (BCA). Barbados is a member of the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB), which is a member of the International Cricket Council (ICC) in its own right, and Barbadians play internationally for the West Indies cricket team. Barbados does not take part in any international competitions (the 1998 Commonwealth Games tournament being an exception), but rather in inter-regional competitions in the Caribbean, such as the Professional Cricket League (which includes the Regional Four Day Competition and the Regional Super50). The team competes in the Professional Cricket League under the franchise name Barbados Pride. Hampshire County Cricket Club
Hampshire County Cricket Club is one of eighteen first-class county clubs within the domestic cricket structure of England and Wales. It represents the historic county of Hampshire. Hampshire teams formed by earlier organisations, principally the Hambledon Club, always had first-class status and the same applied to the county club when it was founded in 1863. Because of poor performances for several seasons until 1885, Hampshire then lost its status for nine seasons until it was invited into the County Championship in 1895, since when the team have played in every top-level domestic cricket competition in England. Roy Marshall
Roy Edwin Marshall (25 April 1930 – 27 October 1992) was a West Indian cricketer who played in four Tests from 1951 to 1952. He was a Wisden Cricketer of the Year in 1959. Early career The son of a wealthy plantation owner, Marshall was born in Farmers Plantation, Saint Thomas, Barbados and made his first-class debut for Barbados in 1946 when only 15. He toured England with the West Indies in 1950, making 1,117 runs at an average just short of 40 runs per innings, though he did not play in any of the Tests. Move to England Marshall made his Test debut against Australia on 9 November 1951 at the Gabba, making 28 and 30. After three further Tests against Australia and New Zealand, Marshall was omitted from the West Indian side and moved to England in 1953 to qualify for Hampshire.
