Nordic Paper
Nordic Paper AS is a Norwegian industrial company, operating in Norway and Sweden. It was founded in 2001 when ''Peterson Scanproof'', a branch of M. Peterson & Søn which consisted of production units in Greåker (formerly owned by Greaker Industrier) and Säffle, was merged with a paper factory in Geithus, owned by Norske Skog Union. The craft paper producer M. Peterson & Søn retained ownership after the reorganization into Nordic Paper, together with Norske Skog Union's parent Norske Skogindustrier. In 2006 both Peterson and Norske Skogindustrier backed out, in favor of numerous investors. As a result of the ownership change, the factory in Geithus was closed. Greaker Industrier AS was a Norwegian industrial company, which ran a paper mill in Sarpsborg, Norway. It was founded by Cæsar Bang in 1905 as ''Greaker Cellulosefabrik''. A 1972 bankrupt caused a slight reorganization, and the name ''Greaker Industrier'' was taken. In 1979 the company was acquired by M. Peterson & Søn. Its main product being greaseproof paper, it was separated from the packaging and solid board branches of M. Peterson & Søn in 1997 under the name ''Peterson Scanproof''. In 2001 it was merged with an entity owned by Norske Skog Union to constitute the company Nordic Paper, placed under joint ownership of M. Pulp And Paper Industry
The pulp and paper industry comprises companies that use wood as raw material and produce pulp, paper, paperboard and other cellulose-based products. Manufacturing process The pulp is fed to a paper machine where it is formed as a paper web and the water is removed from it by pressing and drying. Pressing the sheet removes the water by force. Once the water is forced from the sheet, a special kind of felt, which is not to be confused with the traditional one, is used to collect the water. Whereas, when making paper by hand, a blotter sheet is used instead. Drying involves using air or heat to remove water from the paper sheets. Greåker is a borough in the city of Sarpsborg, Norway, located 7 km west of the city centre. Before 1992 Greåker was a part of Tune municipality. It is situated at the river Glomma between Sarpsborg and Fredrikstad. The borough of Greåker is the home of the Premier League Floorball team "Greåker Bulldogs". Säffle
Säffle () is a locality and the seat of Säffle Municipality, Värmland County, Sweden with 9,150 inhabitants in 2016. In 1951 the town of Säffle was officially awarded City status, the last place for this to occur in Sweden. This was abolished in 1971 and Säffle is now the seat of the much larger Säffle Municipality. Geithus
Geithus is a village in Modum municipality of Buskerud, Norway. It is situated between the villages of Ã…mot and Vikersund. Geithus is located where the southwestern arm of Tyrifjorden ends and drains into Drammenselva. Geithusbrua is a cable bridge, that spans the junction where Tyrifjorden turns into Drammenselva. Norske Skog Union was a paper mill located in Skien in Norway. The mill was part of the Norske Skog Corporation and opened in 1873 with the name Union Co. The mill had two paper machines that produced 240,000 tonnes of newsprint and book paper. It was closed down in 2006. Kraft paper or kraft is paper or paperboard (cardboard) produced from chemical pulp produced in the kraft process. Sack kraft paper (or just sack paper) is a porous kraft paper with high elasticity and high tear resistance, designed for packaging products with high demands for strength and durability.
