Nord-Fron is a municipality in Innlandet county, Norway. It is located in the traditional district of Gudbrandsdal. The administrative centre of the municipality is the town of Vinstra. Other population centers in Nord-Fron include the villages of Kvam and Skåbu. The municipality is the 95th largest by area out of the 356 municipalities in Norway. Nord-Fron is the 166th most populous municipality in Norway with a population of 5,628. General information The prestegjeld of Fron was established as a civil municipality on 1 January 1838 when the new formannskapsdistrikt law went into effect. Olstappen
Olstappen is a lake in Nord-Fron Municipality in Innlandet county, Norway. The southeastern shore of the lake forms the municipal border with Sør-Fron Municipality. The lies about south of the village of Skåbu. The Vinstra river, coming from the southwest, flows into the west side of Olstappen and flows out of Olstappen's northeast corner, and from there it heads east into the Gudbrandsdalslågen river at the town of Vinstra. Sjoa (village)
Sjoa is a village in Sel Municipality in Innlandet county, Norway. The village is located at the confluence of the rivers Gudbrandsdalslågen and Sjoa. The Dovrebanen railway line and the European route E6 highway both run through the village. Sjoa Chapel is located in the village. The mountain Saukampen lies just to the southwest of the village. In 2016 Perkolo Bridge, a glued laminated timber bridge over the Gudbrandsdalslågen at Soja collapsed. The official report into the collapse determined that "the direct cause is a defective joint in the framework". The Perkolo Bridge collapse led to 11 similar bridges being closed for inspection, including one at Tretten. The similar bridge over the Gudbrandsdalslågen at Tretten collapsed in 2022 despite it being checked for defects in 2021. The village is named after the river Sjoa. Skedsmo was a municipality in Akershus county, Norway. It is part of the traditional region of Romerike. The administrative centre of the municipality was the town of Lillestrøm. About one third of the municipal population lived in Lillestrøm. Other important towns are Skedsmokorset, Skjetten and Strømmen. A smaller settlement adjoining Lillestrøm is Kjeller. Gloppen is a municipality in the county of Vestland, Norway. It is located in the traditional district of Nordfjord. Gloppen is generally subdivided into three areas: Hyen in the west, Gloppen in the center, and Breim in the east. Each of the areas have their own main service centres. Eid is a former municipality in the county of Sogn og Fjordane, Norway. It was located in the traditional district of Nordfjord. Sør-Fron Church
Sør-Fron Church ( no, Sør-Fron kyrkje) is a parish church of the Church of Norway in Sør-Fron Municipality in Innlandet county, Norway. It is located in the village of Hundorp. It is the church for the Sør-Fron parish which is part of the Sør-Gudbrandsdal prosti ( deanery) in the Diocese of Hamar. The white, stone church was built in an octagonal design in 1792 using plans drawn up by the architect Svend Aspaas. The church seats about 750 people.
