Nora Vasconcellos
Nora Vasconcellos (born 1992) is an American professional skateboarder from Pembroke, Massachusetts. She is currently signed with Adidas skateboarding and was the first female Skater signed to Adidas. Her other sponsors include Welcome, JuneShine, Yeti, Hume Supernatural, Stance, CCS, Krux, Bronson, OJ, Mob, Nixon. Vasconcellos is featured in the documentary film Skate Dreams (2022). Early life and education Vasconcellos graduated from Pembroke High School. Skateboarding career In June 2016 Vasconcellos began riding for Adidas as an amateur skater. In 2016, Vasconcellos alongside Samarria Brevard and Leo Baker were the mystery guests on Thrasher's King of the Road Season 2. Vasconcellos placed 1st in the 2017 Vans Park Series World Championships. In 2017, she turned pro for Adidas and Welcome skateboards. Pembroke is a small historic town in Plymouth County, Massachusetts, United States. Pembroke is a South Shore suburb of the Boston metropolitan area. The town is located about halfway between Boston and Cape Cod. The town is considered rural with pockets of suburban neighborhoods. The median household income was $119,827 at the 2020 census . King Of The Road (skateboarding)
The title of King of the Road is given out once a year by ''Thrasher'' magazine. The tradition was started in 2003 by Thrasher editor Michael Burnett. In the 'King of the Road' contest, three separate, pre-invited teams of professional skaters are each given a book containing a series of challenges. The challenges themselves involve hard skateboarding tasks, as well as more trivial and humorous ones. There are various points available for each challenge, usually dependent on how difficult or uncomfortable the challenge is. The teams compete at the same time over a two-week period, in which they travel across the U.S. to complete as many challenges as possible. KOTR has been held annually since its inception, with the exceptions of 2008, 2009 and 2018. Giovanni Luigi Reda (born February 6, 1974) is a photographer, videographer, director and skate personality internationally recognized for his work in skateboarding. Early life Reda is from Mill Basin, Brooklyn, and went to college in Atlanta. Reda talks with a strong New York accent and is known for his sarcasm and insulting humor. Skateboarding The Berrics As of 2012, Reda is the staff photographer for the skateboarding website The Berrics. From 2008 to 2011, Reda produced and starred in a weekly video known as Wednesdays With Reda.
