Eleonora "Nora" Mäkinen (also named Gabrielsson and Marttinen; born 11 December 1920 in Vyborg - died 28 February 1984 in Helsinki) was a Finnish model and actress. Mäkinen was one of the most popular models and mannequins in Finland in the 1930s and 1940s. She started modelling at the age of 15 when she was chosen as Miss Heinola. Mäkinen's film career started when Toivo Särkkä noticed her at a fair in Helsinki and asked her for a photoshoot. Mäkinen first acted in small roles in Suomen Filmiteollisuus Suomen Filmiteollisuus (SF), lit. Vyborg (; rus, Вы́борг, links=1, r=Výborg, p=ˈvɨbərk; fi, Viipuri ; sv, Viborg ; german: Wiborg ) is a town in, and the administrative center of, Vyborgsky District in Leningrad Oblast, Russia. It lies on the Karelian Isthmus near the head of the Vyborg Bay, to the northwest of St. Petersburg, east of the Finnish capital Helsinki, and south of Russia's border with Finland, where the Saimaa Canal enters the Gulf of Finland. Rosalia (Rosa Ruiza Leah) Gurovich, also known as Rosa Mäkinen (born 13 November 1902 in Vyborg, Grand Duchy of Finland - died 3 January 1966 in Kotka, Finland) was a Finnish barber from Kotka, said to have been the inspiration for the song ().Tosi tarina: Kotkan Ruusu, directed by Riitta Granath, YLE TV1 4 December 2009. Life Gurovich was born into a wealthy Jewish family. Her mother was from Turku and her father was a Russian Jew who had come to Finland as a soldier. Rosalia married Lauri Mäkinen, a non-Jewish policeman from Vyborg, which brought shame to her family. When Rosalia, while still underage herself, gave birth to her child Nora (Eleonora, 1920 - 1984), later known as a model and an actress, her mother was said to have committed suicide. The couple later divorced, and Nora was raised by the parents of Gurovich's lover Eero Hirvimaa. ''Restless Blood'' (Finnish: ''Levoton veri'') is a 1946 Finnish drama film directed by Teuvo Tulio and starring Regina Linnanheimo, Eino Katajavuori and Toini Vartiainen.Kääpä p.41 The film tells the story of siblings Sylvi and Outi, who love the same man, Sylvi's husband Valter. The couple's relationship breaks down after the tragic death of their child. After becoming blind, Sylvi suspects Valter is being unfaithful to her.
